At the age of 18, he was admitted to shanghai patriotic girls' high school, and at the age of 21, he was admitted to Peking University and studied in the Department of Political Economy. After the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Li Lin was sent to Datong and served as the director of the Propaganda Department of the Datong Central District Committee of the League. Later, he accompanied the Jinsui Border Region Working Committee to the anti-Japanese front in northern Yanbei to publicize and organize workers, peasants, and students to participate in the anti-Japanese armed forces. In the spring of 1938, the 120th Division of the Eighth Route Army formed a cavalry unit, Li Lin actively asked to participate, became the commander and instructor of the cavalry battalion of the independent detachment of the 120th Division, led the troops to ride to the north of Yanbei and Suinan, fought against the Japanese puppet army, and made many achievements in battle.
In April 1940, the Japanese army concentrated more than 10,000 troops to "sweep" the Jinsui Border Area. On April 26, more than 500 people, including the Jinsui Border District Special Committee, the organs of the 11th Administrative Commissioner's Office, and mass organizations, were surrounded. At this time, Li Lin had been pregnant for more than three months, and at her side, there was only one cavalry company, in order to cover the breakthrough of the organs and the masses, she disregarded the 3 months pregnant, led the cavalry company to bravely rush to kill, and led the Japanese puppet army away, but she was besieged at the top of the shady mountain in Xiaoguojia Village. After being wounded in many places in the legs and chest, she still fought bravely, killing and wounding 6 Japanese puppet soldiers, and finally, she shot the last bullet into her throat and died heroically, only 25 years old.
