Luo Cunkang, director of the Anti-Japanese War Hall: Linkage more red pavilions to promote the capital's red resources

This year's Beijing Municipal Government Work Report proposed to strengthen the construction of a "museum city" and make it more convenient for the public to enter the museum.

In recent years, the Chinese Memorial Hall of the Anti-Japanese War has combined its own advantages and the red resources of the capital to launch a number of themed exhibitions and activities at major nodes such as the 85th anniversary of the outbreak of the National War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, attracting widespread attention from the society. At present, what are the special exhibitions of the Chinese Anti-Japanese War Memorial? What are your plans for the future? At the scene of the "Two Sessions" in Beijing, a reporter from the Beijing News interviewed Luo Cunkang, member of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and director of the Memorial Hall of the Anti-Japanese War of Chinese People.

■ Talk about the red exhibition

Beijing News: What are the wonderful exhibitions of the Chinese Anti-Japanese War Memorial at present?

Luo Cunkang: The Chinese Memorial Hall of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression has launched permanent exhibitions such as "Great Victory and Historical Contribution -- Commemorating the Victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War" and the exhibition of historical facts of Taiwan compatriots' anti-Japanese resistance.

Beijing News: Last year, the Chinese Memorial Hall of the Anti-Japanese War held many exhibitions with the characteristics of the capital.

Luo Cunkang: Last year was the 85th anniversary of the outbreak of the National War of Resistance, and we spent a lot of thought on how to dedicate fine exhibitions to the society. We comprehensively investigated and learned about more than 160 Anti-Japanese War sites in Beijing, and launched "Beacon Mark - Special Exhibition of Beijing Anti-Japanese War Theme Area", focusing on more than 50 Anti-Japanese War sites and anti-Japanese war memorials in Beijing. After the exhibition was launched, it was very popular.

In the future, you can not only go to the Chinese Anti-Japanese War Memorial, but also go to the Pingxi Anti-Japanese War Memorial, the Pingbei Anti-Japanese War Memorial, the Jiaozhuanghu Tunnel War Site Memorial, the New China Memorial Hall without the Communist Party, and the Gubeikou Anti-Japanese War Memorial Hall.

Beijing News: In recent years, we can see that you have been hands-on in terms of exhibition furnishings and telling the stories behind cultural relics.

Luo Cunkang: In recent years, I have been involved in the interpretation of cultural relics, and I am fortunate to be named one of the "Top 100 Narrators of National Revolutionary Cultural Relics". I think that as a curator, I should take everyone to excavate the connotation behind cultural relics, tell the stories behind cultural relics, inherit the red genes of cultural relics, and also drive more people to tell the stories behind cultural relics well, so that cultural relics can really "live". At the same time, our researchers should also seriously explore the historical value of cultural relics, and all walks of life, including media friends, can tell the story of cultural relics together.

Beijing News: The Spring Festival holiday is approaching, is there any more wonderful exhibition in the Anti-Japanese War Museum recently, can you recommend it?

Luo Cunkang: Approaching the holiday, the Anti-Japanese War Memorial has launched several large-scale themed exhibitions.

The first is the themed exhibition "Great Victory and Historical Contribution -- Commemorating the Victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War", through which we can fully understand the history of the Chinese nation's War of Resistance Against Japan, the mainstay role played by the Communist Party of China in it, and China's position as the main battlefield in the East in the world anti-fascist war.

Watching this exhibition, you can fully understand the 50-year history of blood and tears of Taiwan compatriots and the process of finally returning to the embrace of the motherland.

In addition, "Beacon Mark - Special Exhibition of Beijing Anti-Japanese War Theme Area" will also continue to be exhibited, from which the audience can learn about the situation of other anti-Japanese war halls in Beijing and take a look around.

In addition, in the past, we introduced exhibitions on the theme of the War of Resistance, but this time we also broke the convention and specially cooperated with the Huaihai Campaign Memorial Hall to launch the "People's Victory - Huaihai Campaign Memorial Hall Revolutionary Cultural Relics Exhibition". The exhibition features more than 200 artifacts, 81 of which are on display for the first time. In the words of Chen Yi, commander and political commissar of the East China Field Army at the time: "The victory in the Huaihai Campaign was pushed out by the masses of the people with a cart!" This exhibition includes a first-class cultural relic - the "merit car" of the model transport regiment of Surabaya County, Shandong Province, and everyone is welcome to come to the Anti-Japanese War Museum to feel the cultural charm of the century-old party history.

■ Talk about the red resources of the capital

Beijing News: Located in Beijing, can you tell us about the unique red resources in the capital?

Luo Cunkang: In recent years, under the leadership of the Propaganda Department of the Municipal Party Committee, Beijing has formed three major red cultural theme areas: one is the red theme area represented by the Red House of Peking University that reflects the early days of the founding of the Communist Party of China, containing 31 ruins and relics; the second is the Anti-Japanese War themed area centered on the Chinese Anti-Japanese War Memorial, which contains more than 160 ruins; The third is the theme area represented by the Xiangshan Revolutionary Activities Memorial Hall and the Shuangqing Villa to reflect the establishment of New China.

The three major red cultural theme areas have played a huge role in inheriting the red gene. This year's work report of the Beijing Municipal Government also mentioned that it is necessary to deepen the construction of the red culture theme area, and I believe that in the future, citizens and friends can easily feel the charm of red culture nearby.

Beijing News: How to make good use of Beijing's unique red cultural resources and better play the patriotic education role of the Chinese Memorial Hall of the Anti-Japanese War?

Luo Cunkang: First of all, we must strengthen our own construction, run our own exhibitions well, and constantly explore and innovate, so that friends from all walks of life are willing to watch and like to watch, which is the direction of our future efforts.

In addition to running their own exhibitions, they should also link up with the Xiangshan Revolution Memorial Hall and the Memorial Hall of the Early Beijing Revolutionary Activities of the Communist Party of China to jointly promote the red resources in Beijing.

We must also base ourselves in Beijing and face the whole country, not only to run a memorial hall in Beijing, but also to drive the national memorial hall to jointly inherit the red gene, tell the story of the century-old party history, and tell the relevant connotation of the party's founding spiritual lineage.

In addition, the Chinese Anti-Japanese War Memorial is also the secretariat of the International Association of World War II Museums, and we have united 50 World War II museums and memorials in 15 countries around the world. In addition to telling the story of the War of Resistance at home, we must also tell the story of Beijing, China, and the community with a shared future for mankind internationally, and feel that there is something to do in the future, and there is a lot to do.

● Talk about the experience of performing duties

Beijing News: How do you feel about participating in this year's conference, can you share it?

Luo Cunkang: I am an "old committee member", this is my second time attending the meeting, I have seen many new faces, and I feel that everyone is of a high level and enthusiastic. In the past three years, due to the impact of the epidemic, everyone rarely met and it was not convenient to chat, but this year it feels particularly cordial to meet and communicate. Everyone said that in the next five years, we, the CPPCC members, should earnestly offer suggestions and suggestions, unite all sectors of society, build consensus, and make due contributions as a member.

Beijing News: As a member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and the director of the Anti-Japanese War Museum, what are your views and suggestions on Beijing's construction of a "museum city"?

Luo Cunkang: I am deeply impressed by Beijing's construction of a "museum city", Beijing has many museum resources, and it has a unique advantage to build a "museum city".

I believe that in the process of building a "museum city", it is necessary to pay equal attention to promoting excellent traditional culture and red culture. To build a "museum city" not only based on Beijing, but also facing the whole country, adhere to "invite in" and "go out", integrate into the whole country and the world, and play the unique role of culture.

Welcome the audience and friends to visit the Anti-Japanese War Memorial Hall, and please give us more valuable advice, especially 2025 will usher in the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, I hope you will actively contribute to us.
