He has a stubborn personality and is both brave and fierce.
After graduating from the Yunnan Army's Daowutang, he was appreciated by Tang Jiyao and quickly grew into Tang Jiyao's right-hand man, making great contributions to Tang Jiyao's charge. Later, Long Yun rebelled against the Tang Dynasty, controlled the military and political power in Yunnan, and ruled Yunnan for 18 years.
During Long Yun's control of Yunnan, he served as the chairman of the government, the commander of the 38th Army, and the commander-in-chief of the 13th Route Army, and was named a second-class general of the Nationalist Army. When the Red Army's Long March passed through Yunnan that year, he was also appointed commander-in-chief of the Second Route Army of "Suppressing Bandits" and director of the Qiandian Appeasement Office, and commanded the first and second fronts of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army that had blocked dian. Of course, his main purpose was to prevent the Red Army from building a base on its own turf, and at the same time, not to allow Chiang Kai-shek's concubines to occupy their own territory.
During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, he served as deputy commander-in-chief of the Nationalist Army, director of the Kunming Camp, and director of the Yunnan Provincial Party Department.
Later, because of Chiang Kai-shek's expansion of power, the influence of his feudal division, and gradual support for the democracy movement, there was a deep contradiction with Chiang Kai-shek, in order to seize control of Yunnan Province, Chiang Kai-shek sent his family to launch a thirteen-year coup in Kunming, had to leave Yunnan, was dismissed, and transferred to the post of president of the military senate and deputy director of the Strategic Advisory Committee.
During the Liberation War, Long Yun came to Settle in Hong Kong, and then issued a statement to break away from the National Government and return to the embrace of the people. Supported the nascent people's government and returned to Beijing from Hong Kong. It can be said that Long Yun's life, although it is also a mixed reputation, he has always been progressive and enlightened, full of patriotic feelings.
Long Yun had 8 children in this lifetime, but his children basically followed a different path from him. So where did his children go, and what was the end?
The eldest son, Long Shengwu, was born in 1906, graduated from the French Military Academy saint Cyr, served as the commander of the 19th Division of the Nationalist Army during the War of Resistance Against Japan, and then went to Taiwan to settle down, and in his later years he converted to Buddhism until his death.
The second son, Long Shengzu, also graduated from the Military Academy of Saint-Cyr in France, and after graduation, joined the army under his father. He began his military service as a lieutenant general in the Presidential Office of the Nationalist Government in 1949 and has lived in Hong Kong ever since.
On April 2, 1950, he participated in an uprising in Kunming and accepted the leadership of China's liberation, but he soon mutinied and organized rebels to loot arms. Our army, in the event that persuasion to surrender was ineffective, had to settle the matter by force.
In 1945, He went to the United States to study, and after graduation, he stayed in the United States to do business, devoting his life to improving sino-US relations. Wuzi LongShengxun went to the United States to study in 1945, and after marrying Hong Kong movie star Lin Dai in 1961, he moved to Hong Kong to settle down. The sixth son died early, and the seventh son, Long Shengde, remained in China after liberation, but because of the identity problem has always been very depressed, he later went to Hong Kong to settle under the sponsorship of the Kuomintang Revolutionary Committee, and then immigrated to Britain and relocated to the United States.
Daughter Long Guobi, after graduating from Kunming Nanzhen Middle School, was admitted to Fudan University in Shanghai, and after graduation, in 1945, at the invitation of Song Ziwen's daughter, she went to the United States to study and studied at Yingbinzhou Women's College. He currently lives in Taipei Radio, Taiwan.
Today, on the outskirts of Zhaotong City, in a place called Xiaosongshan, a new Longyun Former Residence Longjia Ancestral Hall, which is a mansion compound, according to locals, is modeled on the Golden Hall of Wu Sangui in Kunming, but its scale is much larger than the Golden Hall. It covers an area of 25.5 acres alone. The entire Long family ancestral hall is divided into two parts: the Long Clan Ancestral Hall and the residence, and the place where he lived with his family when he returned to his hometown in 1942.
In fact, Long Yun was not born in this village, but in a family of landlords who retained the remnants of slavery in Songle Village, Zhaotongyan Mountain. His house was built here, it is said that after looking at the small pine mountain in Yongfeng Tuji Bay, looking up, you can see the dragon's village, Wanghai Tower, there is a dragon pond water at the foot of the small pine mountain, the four seasons are long, the winter is warm and the summer is cool, and the dragon enters the sea, so it is selected to build the dragon family ancestral hall at the foot of the small pine mountain.
After Long Yun built a family shrine here, he also built a grandstand at the side of Longtan, and lotus flowers were planted in the pond. Half an acre of square pond, sky light and cloud shadow. People stand in the stands to watch the lotus flowers, and when a breeze blows from the four fields, they will smell the faint fragrance of the lotus flowers. Willow trees are planted on the side of Longtan, weeping willows sway, and the water of Longtan is connected to the moat of The Longyun Family Ancestral Hall.
On June 27, 1962, Long Yun died of acute myocardial infarction in Beijing at the age of 78. The former residence of Long Yun's hometown was renovated by locals in honor of this famous democrat and patriotic general.
