Yuan Yongfu was born in 1927 in Yutai Village, Jining City, Shandong Province. In 1945, he voluntarily joined the Shandong Eighth Route Army, and then began a military career of more than thirty years. In the Battle of Luzhong in 1947, because the enemy occupied favorable terrain, our army has been chased and beaten by the other side. However, our army has not given up and is still stubbornly attacking, and at this moment of crisis, Yuan Yongfu, who was lurking in the shadows, shot and killed the enemy's regimental commander, and the enemy army was in chaos, and our army immediately launched an attack, and finally destroyed all the enemy troops. And Yuan Yongfu thus became the sharpshooter in the team.
Once the organization arranged for him to deliver a letter, and when he returned from a mission, he happened to meet the general of the Nationalist army, followed by dozens of soldiers. The brave Yuan Yongfu raised his gun at the general and forced them to surrender. The enemy did not dare to resist, and eventually all became Yuan Yongfu's captives, and he was also awarded a first-class merit by the organization for his battle merits.
When the Battle of Laiwu broke out in 1947, Yuan Yongfu went again to deliver news to the troops, and on the way he happened to encounter dozens of Nationalist soldiers, so he immediately hid and shouted at the Nationalist soldiers and demanded that they surrender immediately. At first, these nationalist troops still wanted to resist, but at this moment, a hare ran out of the grass, and Yuan Yongfu killed the hare with one shot, so the amazing marksmanship directly shocked the national army. In the end, these people had to lay down their weapons and surrender, which also added to Yuan Yongfu's military merits.
On February 23, 1947, the Battle of Laiwu ended in victory, and our army destroyed more than 56,000 enemy troops. Yuan Yongfu himself also made a military merit for capturing the enemy's machine gun company and obtaining important intelligence, so he was awarded a second-class combat hero medal and two first-class military merit medals, and attended the division heroic model conference held in Laiwu Miaoshan as a representative.
In the 1950 Campaign to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, Yuan Yongfu participated in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, and joined the death squad at that time, so he once again received two first-class military medals, but due to war reasons, he was lost on the battlefield. Although there is no military merit medal, Yuan Yongfu's heroic deeds will always remain in everyone's hearts, and his heroic, tenacious, witty and brave combat experience is worthy of admiration by each of us.
On August 18, 2019, Yuan Yongfu died in Jinan at the age of 92 due to ineffective medical treatment. However, after specific statistics, he was awarded the first class merit five times, the second class merit five times, and the third class merit four times in his life, which can be described as a great achievement in battle.
