According to data released by the Association of Passenger Vehicles, the retail sales volume of the domestic passenger car market reached 1.816 million units in November 2021, down 12.7% year-on-year and 6% lower than in November 2019. On a month-on-month basis, retail sales in November increased by 6.0% month-on-month, compared with a 4% month-on-month increase in November in recent years, and the retail trend in November this year was slightly improved.

According to this analysis, the improvement of the automobile market in November is due to a better environmental foundation. Due to good epidemic prevention measures, from the end of September to the middle of November, the epidemic situation was stable, and the unsealing was conducive to the recovery of consumption in the automobile market. At the end of September, the supply of chips began to gradually improve, which also promoted the increase in production and sales in November. The main downside in November was the outbreak. The first is the spread and recurrence of the epidemic, on the one hand, it has a greater impact on the volume of stores, on the other hand, it also leads to the obstruction of the repair of the service industry; secondly, the supply impact constraints and the downward pressure of economic indicators, as well as weak employment expectations and confidence, and the weak growth of consumer demand, which is not conducive to low-end models. In addition, the total supply of chips and structural imbalance constraints have not been completely eliminated, the resources of best-selling models are still tight, and the restrictions on terminals still need time to adjust.

Even if the environment is so unsatisfactory, the sales status of BYD's passenger cars is still Changhong. According to data, BYD's passenger cars sold 97,242 units in November, an increase of 84.1% year-on-year, and the cumulative sales volume in 2021 has exceeded the mark of 500,000 units.

In November 2021, the wholesale sales of new energy passenger vehicles nationwide reached 429,000 units, an increase of 17.9% month-on-month and 131.7% year-on-year. From January to November, the wholesale number of new energy passenger cars was 2.807 million units, an increase of 190.2% year-on-year. Retail sales of new energy passenger cars reached 378,000 units in November, up 122.3% y/y and 19.8% month-on-month. From January to November, the retail sales of new energy vehicles were 2.514 million units, an increase of 178.3% year-on-year.

Correspondingly, BYD's new energy models sold 90,121 units in November, which is also a new record for monthly sales of new energy passenger cars in China, up 252.7% year-on-year, about twice that of the market. In other words, for every four new energy vehicles sold in China, one must come from BYD.

Specific to the model, in November, BYD Han's sales volume was 12,841 units, a new high. Among them, Han EV sold 10,021 units per model, which is the first pure electric medium and large sedan in China with monthly sales of more than 10,000. The sales volume of the new generation of Tang reached 8125 vehicles, doubling year-on-year, showing a strong product force; especially the Tang DM-i, which "consumes only 5.3L of fuel per 100 kilometers", has entered the TOP3 ranks of more than 200,000 new energy SUVs for four consecutive months as of October. In addition, in November, Qin PLUS sales reached 28151, setting a new monthly sales record. Among them, Qin PLUS DM-i sold 18,054 vehicles, Qin PLUS EV continued to increase in volume, sales exceeded 10,000 for the first time, reaching 10,097 units, which has become another explosive model launched by BYD to the compact pure electric vehicle market.

BYD's continuous sales soared, the reason is that on the one hand, it has benefited from the recent continuous climb in dm-i model production capacity, making up for the previous temporary sales "short board". For example, Song DM's November sales were 15,097 units, up 1229.0% year-on-year. On the other hand, by BYD's newly developed models have further catered to the new generation of consumers' pursuit of trend design and intelligent security. For example, the first mass production model based on the e-platform 3.0 and the dolphin, the first model of the Marine series, sold 8,809 units in November. And with its high appearance, large space, low energy consumption selling point, after the listing of a short period of time has achieved good results, becoming the largest dark horse in the field of segmentation.
