According to BYD's sales data in previous years, bydir's cumulative sales of passenger cars in 2020 were 426,000 units, of which fuel vehicle sales were 237,000 units, accounting for 55%, accounting for more than half, and BYD's fuel vehicles contributed the majority of sales.

From 2020, BYD's fuel vehicle sales have fallen sharply, and in 2021, BYD's total passenger car sales will increase by 75.4% compared with 2020 to 730,000, of which nearly 600,000 new energy vehicles will be sold, accounting for 82% of total sales; while the sales of pure fuel vehicles will only be 130,000, and the proportion will fall to 17.8%.

Accelerating directly from the traditional track drift into the plug-in and hybrid track, it can not be completed at once, there must be technical investment and product polishing. BYD sold more than 100,000 passenger cars in March, with 104338 units sold. It is worth mentioning that BYD's sales in March were all new energy vehicles, and it did not produce and sell fuel vehicles. Technically, in 2020, BYD launched a blade battery, aiming at the safety pain points that the market is most concerned about; in 2021, BYD released DM-i super hybrid to accelerate the replacement of traditional fuel vehicles, and also released the much-watched pure electric exclusive platform e platform 3.0, realizing the platformization of the vehicle architecture. In addition, BYD also has its own flat motor, and semiconductor chips also have a complete industrial chain.

BYD will not stop producing gasoline engines altogether, as small, efficient engines will continue to be used in plug-in hybrids. At the same time, BYD will continue to produce and supply auto parts for internal combustion engines, and continue to provide comprehensive service and after-sales support for existing customers.

China is a huge automotive market, and there must be enough product matrix to meet demand. In the January global new energy model sales TOP10 list released by EV SALES / EV VOLUMES, BYD firmly occupied four seats and became famous overseas, of which BYD Qin PLUS DM-i and Song PLUS DM-i rose two places from the previous month, ranking third and fourth in the list.
