Today (June 10), the State Council approved the Ministry of Culture and Tourism to publish the fifth batch of the national intangible cultural heritage representative list (a total of 185 items) and the expanded list of the national intangible cultural heritage representative items (a total of 140 items), including 13 items of Shaanxi's intangible cultural heritage.

Up to now, Shaanxi has been included in 3 items on UNESCO's "Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity List", 87 items on the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List, 674 items at the provincial level, 1998 items at the municipal level and 5249 items at the county level.
According to the Law of the People's Republic of China on Intangible Cultural Heritage, in 2019, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism carried out the recommendation and application of the fifth batch of representative items of national intangible cultural heritage. In 2020, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism organized experts to evaluate 943 projects recommended and declared by 31 provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the Central Government, the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Macao Special Administrative Region, as well as the central and state organs. Subsequently, the fifth batch of national intangible cultural heritage representative project evaluation committee deliberated and proposed the fifth batch of national intangible cultural heritage representative project list with a total of 337 items.
