The Wuling Hongguang MINI EV won the March car sales championship with a wholesale sales of 47,563 units, and was the only model to sell more than 40,000 units.
The Tesla Model Y, the champion of SUV sales, ranked second, with wholesale sales of 39,790 units, up 292% year-on-year. As the champion of passenger car sales in the past two years, Nissan Xuanyi sold only 27,373 units in March this year, falling to third place.
Toyota Camry was the champion of midsize car sales in March, with 27,211 units sold in March, ranking fourth in the car sales rankings. Tesla Model 3 and Honda Accord, two mid-size sedans, also sold more than 20,000 units, 26,024 and 20,667 respectively, ranking seventh and thirteenth.
BYD's two main models performed well, with Song New Energy ranking fifth with sales of 26,729 units, while BYD Qin PLUS ranked eleventh with sales of 22,942 units.
Sales of a number of traditional hot-selling cars fell sharply in March, among which Volkswagen Langyi sold 26,040 units, ranking only sixth; Toyota Corolla sold 25,173 units, ranking eighth. The Honda CR-V, the champion of joint venture compact SUV sales, ranked ninth in the auto sales list in March with sales of 24,360 units, down 24.6% year-on-year, but this sales volume is very good. Changan CS75 followed, with sales of 23,302 units, although the year-on-year decline reached 25.9%, but it is still a normal sales level.
The performance of the "God Car" Haval H6 was disappointing, with only 21,633 units sold in March, losing the SUV championship for two consecutive months, and only ranking twelfth in the March car sales list, down 38.0% year-on-year.
Honda Binzhi, the champion of small SUV sales, ranked 19th in the list of car sales in March with sales of 16,623 units. The sales volume of the self-owned small SUV Geely Binyue was 13,068 units, ranking 31st in the car sales list.
Among traditional luxury brands, the best-selling is the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, which sold 15,586 units in March, ranking twenty-second in the car sales list; the Mercedes-Benz E-Class sold 11,363 units, ranking thirty-eighth; the BMW 5 Series sold 11,029 units, ranking forty-second; and the Mercedes-Benz GLC sold 10,857 units, ranking forty-third. Other luxury cars sold less than 10,000 units in March.
As the champion of MPV sales, Wuling Hongguang sold 11,062 units wholesale in March, ranking only 39th in the March car sales rankings. As the runner-up in MPV sales, the Buick GL8 ranked 70th in the car sales list with sales of 7983 units.
The best-selling of the new car-making forces is the Ideal ONE, which sold 11,034 units in March, ranking 41st in the car sales list.
