With the advancement of time, more information about the domestic EQE planned to be produced within this year has also been disclosed, and the overseas version of the model that can be seen at present will not have much change in the country, and this car is deeply rooted in the essence of Mercedes-Benz design, placing it in the middle of a bunch of new electric vehicles, and the recognition is beyond doubt.
EQE is based on the product of Mercedes-Benz's pure electric platform EVA2, and EQS is connected to the blood of EQS, with EQS's extensive and good reputation foundation, EQE's expectations are also quite high. The design really has nothing to say
In September 2019, Mercedes-Benz released the EQS concept car at the auto show, the first time I saw it, my feeling was "which is the car, this is simply a work of art", Mercedes-Benz is good at making industrial products very exquisite and luxurious, crushing opponents in the sense of aura and grade.
The design of the concept car later landed well on EQS, which made most people give a fairly high evaluation of the electrification of Mercedes-Benz, at least in the inheritance of advantages, EQS did it.
The EQE is basically a small EQS design, although the through-through headlight design is eliminated, and some of the chrome decoration that emphasizes luxury is reduced, but the proportions of the whole vehicle, the streamlined sense and the outline of the headlights are the same. However, due to the cost relationship, EQE does not have the good treatment of the flagship EQS, and uses aluminum alloy coverings in large quantities, and instead of steel components, it also reflects the difference in grades.
The body size is 4946/1961/1512mm, and the wheelbase is 3120mm, due to the pursuit of lower drag coefficient, bullet-shaped ratio and streamlined treatment, making this car look not bloated at all.

Technological but not fully technological

However, in the ecological resources and the application scenarios of intelligent voice, I am afraid that Mercedes-Benz will have to work harder.
As for the lidar that is now standard for more than 400,000 electric vehicles, it is temporarily absent from EQE. At present, it can be seen that the EQE intelligent induction hardware list includes 1 long-distance millimeter wave radar, 1 stereo multi-function camera, 4 short-range millimeter wave radar, 4 surround view cameras and 12 ultrasonic radars, intelligent driving assistance capabilities can achieve navigation assistance driving functions on highways and urban roads, and can complete obstacle avoidance, overtaking, lane change, ramp and other actions.
It is no different from the current L2+ level intelligent driving assistance capability, before Mercedes-Benz launched in Europe, the DRIVE PILOT system (L3 level automatic driving system) did not appear on the first domestic model of the EVA2 platform, not to mention that the use of that system is very restrictive.
In short, the EQE is first a luxury car, then an electric car, and it is not even a smart car.
The understanding of motivation is not the same
The car is still a car, the power is still very important, but today's electric vehicles, it seems that the power is more test of understanding, rather than "strength". The understanding of traditional car companies is more "stable". Mercedes-Benz is no exception.
Taking the domestic EQE 350 as an example, it is equipped with a rear permanent magnet synchronous motor with a maximum power of 215 kW, a maximum torque of 530 N·m, and an acceleration time of 0-100 km/h of 6.4 seconds. The battery capacity is 90.6kWh, the cruising range can reach 660km under WLTP conditions, support 400V DC fast charging, the maximum charging power is 170kW, and the cruising range of 250 km can be replenished in 15 minutes when the power is low.
Such a power specification, for a Mercedes-Benz, is not very good? However, if compared with the NIO ET7, the 3.9 second acceleration time and the 100kWh battery pack range of 700 kilometers seem to be nothing to brag about.
Why is it to compare with NIO ET7? Mercedes-Benz EQE has released a price in Europe, EQE 350 + sold for 70626 euros (equivalent to about 495,000 yuan), blind guessing introduction of domestic will also remain above the 500,000 benchmark, if slightly above the domestic E300L, it will likely sell to 550,000. This price point and WEILAI ET7 have a certain degree of overlap.
In contrast, although the WEILAI ET7 is not as perfect and stunning as Mercedes-Benz in design, it has more scientific and technological points to watch under the premise that the design is not crotch-pulling, and lidar and up to 1060TOPS computing power have higher-order NAD upgrades in the future, covering more intelligent capabilities in life scenarios, and supporting the possibility of power exchange and future battery upgrades.
Nowadays, electric vehicle consumption, one is that the understanding of the brand has changed, the three-fork star is of course a highly valuable car logo, Weilai has also established the image of a domestic high-end brand, relatively speaking, the owner can also enjoy a lot of "noble services"; the second is that most of the users who buy high-end electric vehicles are more inclined to pursue scientific and technological points of view, expecting a different car experience.
No wonder, after watching EQE, you will feel that it is not as good as Weilai ET7 incense.
