Compared with the Japanese version of HR-V released last year, the AMERICAN version of HR-V is different in design and size.
Specifically, the AMERICAN VERSION OF HR-V is more like a miniature version of the crown road / UR-V in the overall outline, the front face design is more ostentatious, the size of the intake grille is not as large as the Japanese version, but the hexagonal honeycomb grille inside is more impactful, with the long strip headlights and the intake area on both sides below, quite a Visual Sense of Ford Mustang MACH-E.
Coming to the side of the body, the new car is different from the design of the Japanese VERSION OF THE HR-V, the overall line is smoother, and it does not adopt the steeper slip-on design of the Japanese version, but is more traditional. In addition, the Japanese version of the HR-V rear door concealed door handle has also been removed, replaced by the traditional door handle design.
In terms of the tail, the AMERICAN version of HR-V also abandons the new family tail design used in the Japanese version, and the entire tail shape is more rounded and full. However, the hidden exhaust pipe design is still used under the tail, so that the entire tail can be more integrated.
In addition to the design, another big difference between the AMERICAN HR-V and the Japanese model is that the new car is larger in size, and the overall is between the Japanese HR-V and CR-V, which can be regarded as an entry-level compact SUV.
And Honda wants to introduce the American version of HR-V into China, what is its intention?
In fact, the Japanese version of HR-V is the domestic version of the XR-V and Binzhi, the two models will also be replaced in the near future, using the design of the Japanese version of the model, of course, the size is also a continuation of the Japanese version of the model. All along, XR-V and Binzhi have positioned small SUVs, and the models with higher positioning are CR-V and Haoying.
However, with the launch of Volkswagen's Tuyue and Tange, Toyota's launch of entry-level compact SUVs such as the Corolla Ruifang and Fenglanda, Honda has no corresponding models to compete with these models. Therefore, in order to make up for the gap in the entry-level compact SUV, Honda will also introduce a model such as the American HR-V.
At present, we can see that many joint venture manufacturers have brought models that were once only sold in North America to China, such as Xena, Jawa, Lingfang/Weisa, And Asia Dragon. More abundant models, for these manufacturers, can also penetrate into a more segmented market.
It is worth mentioning that it is understood that the new generation of HR-V in the United States is expected to be equipped with 2.0L naturally aspirated and 1.5T turbocharged two engines. After the new car is introduced to Japan, it is expected to be adjusted in terms of power, and it will be equipped with a 1.5T and hybrid.
As a model that is between XR-V and CR-V in terms of size and positioning, the price of HR-V after its introduction will most likely be fixed at about 150,000 yuan, and it will compete with Volkswagen Tuyue/Tange, Toyota Corolla Ruifang/Fenglanda, Nissan Qashqai and other models.
