What can be done to keep your child's physical and mental health? 【Banquan Primary and Secondary School Mental Health】During the epidemic, what can parents do to adapt their children to home learning?

After the child learns at home

What psychological distress may occur?

1. It is difficult to adapt to life and learning

Children learn online at home, will feel that they can't learn across the screen, if the child's own self-discipline ability is poor, either dozing off or want to play mobile phones, from time to time want to wander, completely do not feel the atmosphere of learning in school. At the same time, there is no regularity in life and learning, and children will feel that learning is very tired, learning efficiency is not high, learning pressure increases, and anxiety is easy to cause.

2. Poor parent-child communication

During the period when children are studying at home, many parents do not stop work, but they also have to shoulder the responsibility of supervising their children's learning, nagging and urging will increase, this way of getting along for a long time Children will be bored, parents and children are prone to friction. Some children will quarrel with their parents because they stay up late to play games and read novels, resulting in tension in parent-child relationship, which in turn affects children's mental health.

3. Negative emotions overlap, resulting in an increase in psychological burden

Schooling is a collective form in which children have an emotional support for each other. Now that learning online at home, children will lack communication between peers. Coupled with the fact that a series of problems such as learning pressure, irregular life, and increasing contradictions with parents cannot be effectively solved, children will feel irritable and do not know how to self-regulate.

How parents do it

Can children adapt to learning at home as soon as possible?

First of all, parents should have time to spend with their children every day. "Personal parenting, strengthening parent-child companionship" is the most important one in the reasonable ways and methods of family education. During the epidemic period, parents can take a little time to accompany their children every day, not for a long time, but they must put down their mobile phones, put down their housework, put down their work, and accompany their children wholeheartedly. Preschoolers can cuddle their children for 5 minutes a day in the morning and evening; children in the elementary school section can have a pleasant conversation with them for 10 minutes a day; and children above the middle school section can listen to their children for 15 minutes a day. The most direct, effective and happiest education that parents can give their children is this kind of high-quality companionship.

Second, parents are emotionally stable and set a good example for their children. Emotional stability for parents is the best gift to their children. Parents usually smile and communicate with their families on an equal footing, respect, understand and encourage each other, harmonious relationships, emotional stability, even when answering the phone or phone call at home, the mood should be happy, the voice contains laughter, creating a good family atmosphere, is conducive to the establishment of a sense of security for children.

Third, do more aerobic exercise. Parents and children play games together, do gymnastics, crafts and even cook together, etc., which is conducive to establishing a close relationship between parents and children, and helps children eliminate troubles and build a good psychological state.

Fourth, care about people first and then care about learning. Children's growth needs physical nutrition, but also need psychological nutrition, parents first of all to ensure that the child three meals a day and adequate sleep, which is the guarantee of physical health; secondly, observe, inquire, understand the child's mood, timely give method guidance, to ensure the child's good psychological state; and finally, care about the child's learning situation, timely understanding of his difficulties, and he looks for solutions together.

Finally, the parents of children in the middle and high school entrance examinations should adjust their mentality and give their children the spiritual support they need. Children facing the middle school entrance examination and the college entrance examination are prone to anxiety, and now they are studying at home, and various discomforts will affect their learning efficiency. At this time in previous years, the school would invite psychologists to give psychological counseling to students and parents who were preparing for the exam. Now in this situation, group counseling is gone, so in many cases, it is up to the children themselves to channel, and when necessary, online psychological counseling can be done. Parents should adjust their mentality, let go of anxiety, ask more for their children's opinions, ask more about what parents need to do, and give their children the spiritual support they need.
