What is Mental Health?

Standards for mental health
Psychologists describe the criteria for mental health as the following:
(1) Have a moderate sense of security, self-esteem, and a sense of value for self-achievement;
(2) Moderate self-criticism, not too boasting about oneself and not too harsh oneself;
(3) In daily life, have a moderate initiative and are not swayed by the environment;
(4) Rational, realistic, objective, have good contact with reality, be able to tolerate the blows of setbacks in life, and have no excessive illusions;
(5) be moderately receptive to the needs of the individual and have the ability to meet such needs;
(6) Be self-aware, understand your own motives and goals, and be able to make an objective estimate of your own abilities;
(7) Be able to maintain the integrity and harmony of personality, personal values can adapt to social standards, and can concentrate on their own work;
(8) Have realistic life goals;
(9) Have the ability to learn from experience, and be able to adapt to the needs of the environment and change themselves;
(10) Have good interpersonal relationships, have the ability to love others and be loved. On the premise of not violating social standards, they can maintain their own individuality, neither too sycophant, nor too much seeking social approval, have personal independent opinions, and have standards for judging right and wrong.
Standards for the mental health of primary and secondary school students
According to the characteristics of adolescent children's mental activities in mainland China, they should possess the following six psychological qualities to achieve mental health:
1. Normal intellectual development, that is, the level of intellectual development of an individual is commensurate with his or her actual age;
2. Stable emotions. Although there will be sorrow, confusion, failure, frustration, etc., it will not last long;
3. Be able to understand yourself correctly. Be clear about the value of your own existence, have your own ideals, and be confident in the future;
Fourth, have good interpersonal relationships. Respect and understand others, learn from others' strengths, and get along with others in a friendly and tolerant manner;
5. Stable and coordinated personality, able to effectively control and regulate one's own personality tendencies and personality psychological characteristics;
6. Love life, be able to give full play to your potential in all aspects, and do not lose confidence in life due to setbacks and failures.
