After the postponement of the Beijing Auto Show, and the release of the ideal flagship model L9 did play a trick, this wave of L9 showed a lot of content through the "official spoiler" model. Today I will do some combing through the two contents of its smart cockpit and automatic driving. After that, I took some time to take the entire EE architecture out separately to see, in fact, the current software and hardware are all around the core unit to do, mainly the software level of the function to open up for the management level of the new force is not difficult, so it is not a big deal.

Part 1: Iteration of the cockpit

Ideal in the cockpit field is still playing very clearly, at the beginning of the ideal ONE (2020) to the large screen as a selling point, with Linux and Android systems, this momentum has calmed many consumers.

The use of large screens, there are requirements for the response speed and characteristics of the system, but from TI's Jacinto to horizon products, there is little difference in the upgrade of the overall cockpit, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820A processor still determines the overall effect.

The screen in the ideal L9 cockpit includes the vehicle center control screen, the co-pilot entertainment screen, and the rear cabin entertainment screen (these three are 15.7-inch OLED screens). Compared with before, the instrument panel (using high-end HUD) and the car control screen (this thing is useless), and the driving information will be obtained through the HUD and the central control screen. The cockpit domain controller uses two Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chips (24GB of memory and 256GB of high-speed storage) to form a computing platform, supporting the switching of dual 5G operators. In order to better voice interaction, 6 microphones are used to improve voice interaction capabilities, and gesture recognition is performed through 3DToF sensors.

As for the ceiling screen, BMW has just done it before, which is usually used on the MPV before, which is a bit of a plane to watch a movie - in fact, this screen is in addition to deepening the image of the "Daddy Car", and it is also a bit of a business use in it.

It is worth mentioning that this central domain controller, using NXP's latest S32G vehicle specification chip (should be G2), is ideally completed by the software and hardware development, according to the current information, it should be integrated with the function of the VCU (for the extended range electric system, air conditioning system, chassis system and seat control system) and other functions to achieve full self-development, of course, it is estimated that it can also be used as a gateway.

Remarks: The relevant content of three electricity and charging has not been included in it.

Part 2: Iterations of Autonomous Driver Assistance Systems

Automatic driving assist function, but also the three new forces car companies have been in full competition with the department, the previous ranking is Xiaopeng, Weilai and ideal, so now has expanded the ideal of the automatic driving team This time to vigorously promote its fully self-developed intelligent driving system - ideal AD Max. This AD Max intelligent driving system uses full-stack self-developed sensing, decision-making, planning and control software with AEB automatic emergency braking function.

1) Configuration of the perception section

From the perspective of perception parts, Tesla uses similar high-performance cameras as the main source of perception, including 6 8-megapixel cameras and 5 2-megapixel cameras, which provide 360-degree all-round perception of the body's surroundings and long distances.

The combination of two 8-megapixel cameras directly in front of them enables the identification of objects such as vehicles, pedestrians and cone barrels with a wide-angle range of 120 degrees and up to 550 meters. It should be noted that this time the ideal and Tesla suddenly "killed" five millimeter wave radar (forward radar and four-angle radar), which basically returned to the state of the 2020 ideal ONE, but like Tesla, it used a leapfrog vision system + computing power to "pile" the effect.

Note: In the iteration of the ideal ONE from 2021 to 2020, the perception system has also been improved, and the performance parameters of the front camera have been improved - from a monocular camera of 1.3 million pixels and a horizontal viewing angle of 52 °, to 8 million pixels and a horizontal viewing angle of 120 °, which is basically an inheritance relationship.

Unlike Tesla, the ideal L9 forward-facing vehicle-grade lidar is equipped with 128 lasers, the global resolution is 1200x128, the number of point clouds reaches 1.53 million / s, in the scene of limited cameras such as dark light and strong light, lidar can ensure the accuracy of the system's environmental perception, and help vehicles improve the identification of stationary and special-shaped obstacles, such as accident stationary vehicles on the highway, construction barricades and other objects, etc., to improve safety.

2) The configuration of the automatic driving part

NVIDIA Orin-X processor, the final force reached 508Tops, the dual processors are redundant with each other's computing power. From the perspective of the flagship version, the ideal L9 with a price increase is to upgrade its own automatic assisted driving ability (the perception configuration and computing power configuration of the three new forces are basically similar) to achieve the navigation assistance driving function of the whole scene. From the "spoiler" point of view, there is no rendering of the relevant autonomous driving domain controller this time, but it is a bit like the concept of upgrading from the previous horizon to Orin.

The difference between the current models and the hardware will become smaller and smaller, and the models may enter the era of software competition - that is, the effect that most car companies have accelerated the pace of development and quickly stacked the hardware.
