Purple Potential: BMW 2 Series COUP

This design style is also a strong statement, with the famous in-line six-cylinder engine under the bonnet making this coupe a new force in the compact coupe.

The bulging bonnet, the wider front grille with opening and closing controls: there is no doubt that the design of the new two-seat coupe fully demonstrates bmw's sporty spirit. The new car no longer uses the huge double kidney grille of the current model, but inherits the traditions of the 2002 Turbo, the first generation M3, and the M135i and M235i, and the stylish and sporty style and the beautiful "Thunder Night Purple" livery are eye-catching. Currently the only two-door model among the larger Series 1 and 2 family members, it wasn't built on a front-wheel-drive platform, but with 3- and 4-Series technology. In addition to rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive depending on the model, it will also be equipped with an in-line six-cylinder engine.

When the previous generation was introduced, it won the favor of one-third of users. The top-of-the-line model, the M240i, is exotic, with a basic price of 56 000 euros for this sports car. However, the 3.0-liter engine, which was boosted from 340 horsepower to 374 horsepower, is mated to all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission, while those who seek pure driving pleasure want the future M2 to be without those. Otherwise, the new M240i will be very close to the previous 410 hp M2 Competition. According to BMW, the car accelerates even 0.1 seconds faster than the latter by 0.1 seconds.

The overall size of the body is slightly increased compared to the previous generation model, the curb weight is larger, the sports seats with side support are very comfortable, and the easy-to-use operation is very intimate. Aside from the general view of the full range and the digital cockpit that takes some time to get used to, the car fits like a tailor-made suit. Press the start button, place the gear lever in the "D" position, and as the vehicle starts, the inline six-cylinder turbocharged engine instantly comes alive with a pleasant roar. The turbo spins rapidly, bringing the ultimate thrill to the handling of the vehicle, all of which will make you smile unconsciously with satisfaction on your face.

Flexibly adjustable chassis

The new car features a wider wheelbase and wheelbase to reduce body roll when cornering, and an optimized chassis with electronically controlled, adjustable damping suspension. In addition, the top model is equipped with 19-inch rims, M Sport rear axle differential and M sport brake system. Thanks to increased body rigidity and perfect weight balance, this coupe rides smoother and the sport steering system is extremely responsive and precise. Drifting is easy even in "Sport Plus" mode. Although the suspension becomes tight at this point, the design of the rear drive and the electronic differential lock allow for better control of body drift.

However, the improvement of other daily functions is more limited. The increased wheelbase of a few centimeters did not make the interior space appear more spacious, especially the rear seats. Unlike the abundance of driver assistance features, the variable luggage compartment space is maintained only to the daily level. For those who often load cargo and pay more attention to the size of the luggage compartment, there may be many other models to choose from. However, as a compact coupe with a great in-line six-cylinder turbocharged engine, the M240i does offer you a pure driving experience, which is what really makes it all.

Despite the use of many electronic devices, the M240i is still able to give the driver a pure driving experience and extreme handling. Even an entry-level two-seater coupe guarantees plenty of driving pleasure.
