Pelvic floor rehabilitation - a compulsory postpartum course for mothers

Pelvic floor rehabilitation - a compulsory postpartum course for mothers

Moms may often have such embarrassing scenes for a long time after giving birth: laughing, sneezing, and urinary leakage during exercise, which is caused by the decline in pelvic floor function after childbirth. Pelvic floor rehabilitation is the savior of the "unspeakable" rescue of postpartum mothers.

What is the pelvic floor?

The pelvic floor is a fairly important area in the middle of the human body. It is connected to both the spine of the upper body and the hip joint and lower limbs. The pelvic floor not only supports the muscles, ligaments, connective tissues and nerves of the bladder, uterus, vagina and rectum, and helps these pelvic organs function normally, but also plays an extremely important role in carrying up and down and ensuring the balance of conduction in the human body.

During pregnancy, abdominal pressure and gravity of the pelvic organs are directed at the pelvic floor muscles, and with the increasing weight of the uterus, the pelvic floor muscles are under constant pressure and gradually relax. During childbirth, the pelvic floor muscles are also damaged to some extent. If mothers do not pay attention to pelvic floor health care after childbirth, then the "scarred" pelvic floor muscles will affect their health.

Do postpartum women have to do pelvic floor rehabilitation?

Pelvic floor screening should be performed 42 days postpartum for either caesarean section or vaginal delivery, and pelvic floor rehabilitation should be performed if pelvic floor screening is abnormal or if there are clinical symptoms associated with pelvic floor disease.

note! Female friends with the following pelvic floor dysfunction need to do pelvic floor rehabilitation!

Patients with urinary incontinence: mild and moderate stress incontinence (sneezing, coughing, jumping rope, climbing stairs, leaking urine while walking briskly, etc.), urgent urinary incontinence (frequent urination, urgency, urinary incontinence, frequent urination, urinary frequency, urinary desire to urinate when hearing running water, etc.), mixed urinary incontinence;

Patients with hyperactivity of the bladder: urinary frequency, urgency, with or without urgency urinary incontinence;

Urinary retention: urinary retention after childbirth and pelvic surgery;

Pelvic organ prolapse: mild and moderate pelvic organ prolapse (anterior and posterior vaginal wall bulge, uterine prolapse, etc.);

Defecation disorders: constipation or fecal incontinence;

Pelvic pain: chronic pelvic pain, postpartum pelvic pain, lumbar and abdominal distention and soreness, low back pain, etc.;

People with vaginal laxity or spasms: a common phenomenon in postpartum or middle-aged and elderly women;

People with sexual dysfunction.

Caring for women's health, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Xi'an Trade Union Hospital has set up pelvic floor function screening and pelvic floor rehabilitation treatment.

Through the accurate diagnosis of pelvic floor muscles, the damaged pelvic floor muscles are awakened by electrical stimulation, biofeedback and other techniques, increasing their muscle strength and elasticity, and restoring pelvic floor function. Pelvic floor rehabilitation, I wish you a return to elegant life!
