From the release of the new car at the end of last year to the announcement of the price at the end of February this year, the AITO M5 was officially delivered on March 5. The delivery was launched simultaneously in 36 cities and more than 100 user centers, and such a speed and scale are rare in the new car-making forces. Behind this is the efforts of Xilis, and there is also the promotion and leadership of Huawei.
The Q&I M5 is the first model of the AITO brand, and Huawei is deeply involved in the design, research and development, engineering technology, software and hardware development of this model, and even in terms of sales channels, Huawei is also doing its best to use its original advantages to dominate the construction of the marketing network. From repeatedly emphasizing "no car building", to entering the deep water area of car manufacturing, to taking the stage in a high profile, Huawei has obviously become a member of the new car-making force.
Xilis and Huawei "two swords together"
Q. Why did the M5 support the price of 249,800 to 319,800 yuan? From the hardware point of view, its cutting-edge appearance design, high-specification chassis, advanced pure electric drive range extender platform and so on are all highlights. In terms of chassis, the new car adopts an all-aluminum alloy chassis, with a front double wishbone and a rear multi-link independent suspension to ensure the handling, stability and comfort of the vehicle. As a range extender electric vehicle, aito inquisitive M5 is equipped with HUAWEI DriveONE pure electric drive range extender system (of which the 1.5T four-cylinder range extender is provided by Xilis), Huawei's self-developed front asynchronous AC motor + rear permanent magnet synchronous motor to form an intelligent four-wheel drive system, peak power up to 365kW (four-wheel drive performance version peak power 315kW), zero to 100 km/h acceleration of 4.4 seconds (rear drive standard version acceleration of 4.8 seconds). In terms of endurance, the pure electric endurance of WLTC is 150 kilometers, the CLTC working range is 1242 kilometers under the extended range drive, the WLTC working range is 1100+ kilometers, and the NEDC working range is 1195 kilometers.
As the manufacturer of the M5, the two smart factories of Xilix provide a guarantee for the fast and high-quality delivery of the M5. The Liangjiang Smart Factory, built on the standard of Industry 4.0, has an annual production capacity of 100,000 vehicles, and the current single-day production capacity is rapidly climbing, and the new second factory built in accordance with the standard of intelligent digital flexible vehicle factory has also been basically completed, providing a guarantee for future mass delivery.
In addition, Xilis has also brought together a number of outstanding supplier resources in the industry, such as Huawei, CATL, and Bosch, to achieve the scale, agility, and leanness of the supply chain system through integrated and innovative business architecture. "In the future, we will also grow together with users through the enrichment of product lines and the change of technology," said Zhang Zhengyuan, CMO of Xilix Automobile.
Hongmeng cockpit system is the first to board the car
In addition to hardware, the biggest highlight of the M5 is the Huawei HarmonyOS Hongmeng cockpit system, which is the first time that the system is installed on a smart electric vehicle. The new HarmonyOS smart cockpit fully connects mobile phones, cars, watches, smart homes and other devices from the underlying technology, realizing seamless connection between devices in the same system, showing the same level of fluency and ease of use as Huawei mobile phones and Pads. Some people joked that the M5 was "buying the Hongmeng system to send the car". Indeed, for consumers, the M5 is more like a drivable electronic product, and Huawei wants to move HarmonyOS into the car to create a complete ecosystem and form a closed loop of intelligent life experience. For example, on the way to work, you can adjust the lights, temperature and even music in the home through the intelligent network connection in the car, and everything is ready to go back to the room, and you don't have to operate one by one, which is the convenience of intelligence.
In terms of sensors, the M5 must support its powerful L2 level intelligent driving assistance. The M5 is equipped with 1 visual perception camera, 3 millimeter-wave radar, 4 APA cameras, and 12 long-range ultrasonic radars. Among them, the millimeter-wave radar supplied from Bosch has a maximum detection distance of 210 meters and a detection angle of 120 degrees, ensuring the driving safety of the vehicle after entering the automatic driving mode, and at the same time, under the collaborative work of APA controllers, the Inquisition M5 also supports more than 100 parking scenarios.
Achievement channel "Big Mac"
In order to facilitate users' close and rapid contact with the M5, the AITO brand combines the channel advantages of Both Xilix and Huawei to open the new retail 3.0 model of the automobile. It is understood that the sales network of AITO Q&I M5 includes Huawei Mall and some of Huawei's offline stores, as well as the AITO official website and Xilix Automobile offline dealers, AITO user center, and AITO authorized user center. Up to now, AITO brand sales and service outlets including more than 500 experience centers and 150 user centers have been laid. This year, a total of 1,000 experience centers and about 300 user centers will be settled.
The speed of such channel laying is unmatched by any new car-making force. It is reported that in January this year, the BAIC Extreme Fox Alpha S HI Edition has been stationed in the Beijing Yintai Huawei flagship store, which also marks the commercialization of Huawei's intelligent driving and cockpit products with BAIC Extreme Fox and Xiaokang Xilis respectively. Yu Chengdong, CEO of Huawei's consumer business, once said: "The biggest advantage of Huawei selling cars is that Huawei has more than 5,000 smart stores, and BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Tesla, and new car-making forces are not in the same order of magnitude, which is our huge advantage, covering every important city, which is Huawei's long-term strategy for the next 5 to 10 years." The sales network is the biggest advantage of Huawei's car sales, and it also gives Yu Chengdong enough confidence: "I hope that we will overturn Tesla in the first year, and far surpass them in the second year... We also provide a higher version behind us, which will wipe out the space of Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Audi for more than 300,000 yuan to 500,000 yuan. ”
"The Q&I M5 is an important attempt by Huawei in the car sector, not just to sell cars, but more importantly, to prepare for the continuous improvement of all-scenario ecological interconnection." Huawei insiders revealed that "we want to be a software company more." From this point of view, Huawei's car manufacturing and selling cars is only an incision, and its ambition may be far above other new car-making forces.
