RULER Emotional Management Method:
Recognizing:
The emotions that distinguish between ourselves and others occur not only in what we think, feel, and say, but also in facial expressions, body language, tone, and other non-colloquial signals.
Understanding:
Understand those feelings and be able to identify their roots. It's actually because of what experiences cause it, and then observe how they affect our behavior.
Labeling:
Mark emotions with delicate and precise vocabulary.
Expressing:
Express our feelings in accordance with cultural norms and social contexts, trying to fully inform the listener and arouse the empathy of the other party.
Regulating:
Regulate emotions, rather than let them override us, and find practical strategies to deal with our own and other people's feelings.
