On the sixth day of the Lunar New Year on February 6, Xining Railway Station, the largest passenger distribution center on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, ushered in the peak of the Spring Festival return passenger flow.
In the crowd of people coming and going, Du Changfan, the attendant of the station waiting room, walked hurriedly, checked the equipment of the station hall, answered the passengers' inquiries, and arranged the work in the waiting room in detail. This is his 39th Spring Festival in his post.
As the "big housekeeper" in the waiting room of Xining Station, Du Changfan should continue to "circle" and "turn back" around the waiting room of more than 6,000 square meters, ensure that the code inspection, security inspection, service desk and other posts "do not leave the people" during the day, check the operation of various equipment and facilities such as escalators and ticket gates every 2 hours, and timely serve key passengers and deal with emergency emergencies; at night, he must organize personnel to carry out comprehensive elimination and emergency duty. "As soon as I go to work, I can't leave the ground, and I have to walk at least 30,000 or 40,000 steps a day." Du Changfan said that this is actually his "daily life" during the Spring Festival.
In addition to being the "race walking champion" in the waiting room, Du Changfan is also a "living encyclopedia" for passenger inquiries. Whenever a passenger asks about the ticket gate, platform and other information, Du Changfan can always blurt out; how to quickly transfer and change the number of trains, he can also quickly give a plan, never delay the passenger minute by second.
At the end of the Spring Festival holiday, Xining continued to snow, Du Changfan expanded the working radius to the drop-off platform, timely organized personnel to clear snow, equipped with anti-slip blankets at the entrance to the station, and coordinated relevant units to strengthen the heating of the waiting room.
In view of the fact that many elderly people choose to visit their relatives in reverse, he organized station staff to focus on providing key services for elderly passengers, opening up green channels, convening passenger transport personnel to help them transport luggage, and helping them get off the platform and get on the train... Let passengers stop warmly at the "Tianlu Station" and embark on a safe journey.
In fact, Du Changfan's family has been employees of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway for three generations, his father Du Qingjun was a wrench in the Xining railway section before his death, his wife Xu Ruihuan was a conductor in the Xining passenger section before retirement, his son Du Wenyan was a duty officer in the operation of Lhasa West Railway Station, and his daughter-in-law Zhang Min was a study freight attendant at The Drinking Maxia Station. The railway is like a bond that binds the family together.
His son Du Wenyan grew up with his parents, and in his memory, the number of times he spent the Spring Festival with his parents was countless. After growing up, Du Wenyan retired from the army, became a railway worker, came to work in a foreign country, and better understood the hardships and difficulties of his parents.

In 2012, Du Wenyan, who was in his early 20s, came to Delingha Station to work as a freight worker, and during the 9 years of working at Delingha Station, he gradually grew from a linker to a freight duty officer.
Last year, the Lalin Railway opened for operation, and Du Wenyan took the initiative to apply to work at Lhasa West Railway Station and became an operation attendant. In this position, he needs 12 hours to answer four phone calls, issue and review driving instructions, and get in touch with locomotive drivers, dispatchers, signallers and on-site construction personnel at any time to ensure that the driving order is orderly.
The Drinking Maxia Station, where her daughter-in-law Zhang Min is located, is a small fourth-class station where nearly 300 railway trucks are received every day. As a learning freight attendant, she had to overcome difficulties such as heavy wind and sand and low temperature, and was fully armed and raced against time to check the loading and reinforcement of vehicles before departure, check various types of bills with the in-house staff, and do a good job in organizing the loading and unloading of trucks.

This year is the 10th Spring Festival experienced by Du Wenyan and his wife Zhang Min, who rushed to their respective "battlefields" to do their best for the transportation of materials during the Spring Festival. Before the Start of the Spring Festival, they carefully selected a pair of comfortable and warm shoes for their father Du Changfan, hoping that it could help their father "conquest" the Spring Festival.
Accompanying the passengers, Du Changfan has suddenly spent half his life, and when he enters the retirement countdown, he often laments that time passes too quickly. Nowadays, Du Changfan has brought out more young duty officers with strong business ability and outstanding performance, which are taught together with rich work experience, and his enthusiasm for the cause of plateau railways.
After retirement, Du Changfan will usher in a new "post" - to help his son and daughter-in-law take care of their two-year-old children, so that they can work hard and work with peace of mind.
