Radiation therapy and breast implants are common factors that lead to breast asymmetry. Radiation therapy will lead to a significant decrease in the quality of the skin in the breast area, and the dry skin is prone to ulcers, which in turn leads to atrophy and fibrosis of the subcutaneous tissue. If radiation therapy is received during breast development, it will affect the development of the breasts, resulting in breast asymmetry. Breast plastic surgery such as breast augmentation may also lead to breast asymmetry, and implantation may cause changes in the position of the nipple and the wrinkles under the breast, and breast asymmetry may occur.
Factors such as tumor growth and tumor removal can lead to asymmetry in the breast. Larger tumors will show significant breast asymmetry. After tumor resection, the loss of skin and breast tissue at the breast site can also lead to asymmetries in breast size, morphology, and location.
