In 2015, the Straits Herald launched the "Xiamen Warm City" publicity plan to report on the good deeds of ordinary people in Xiamen. Starting from today, the Straits Herald's "2021 Top Ten Civilian Heroes" selection has officially opened, and now it is open to the public to collect ordinary people's good deeds and warm people. This is the seventh year that the Straits Herald has selected the "Top Ten Civilian Heroes" under the guidance of the Propaganda Department of the Xiamen Municipal Party Committee.

Since the launch of the "Xiamen Warm City" publicity plan, the Straits Herald has excavated hundreds of heart-warming stories with the citizens, and publicized the ordinary but great acts of many heroes through newspapers, websites, public accounts and small video platforms, and publicized the ordinary but great acts of kindness of many heroes, so that the warm city spirit of Xiamen people continues to shine.

In the first six years, the "Top Ten Civilian Heroes" were selected every year by public vote, experts and scholars. Looking back at the "Top Ten Civilian Heroes of 2020" selected by the previous session, there are white-clad angels who helped Hubei fight the epidemic, Ge Zhimin, a good policeman who lifted a boy from a high altitude, Yin Longfei, secretary of the party branch who struggled to jump into the sea to save people, Xu Ruomei, a cancer volunteer who insisted on volunteer service, and Ji Jinlong, a deaf takeaway worker who bravely moved forward for his family. Ordinary but great characters have warmed the hearts of the citizens.

Looking at the heroic character records over the years, in 2019, the ordinary sea-seeking man Huang Chaozhi repeatedly saw the righteous courage to jump into the sea to save people; in 2018, the security Daniel Zhang and Zhang Zi needed to save people at a height of 45 meters, and the "most handsome captain" Huang Zhibin flew a helicopter backwards to save people; in 2017, the "running blood bank" and "Fu Ge" donated more than 70 blood in 15 years...

"Risk saving people", "seeing righteousness and courage for", "sticking to one's post", "dedicating oneself to good deeds"... From these typical civilian heroes in the past, we can extract these heart-warming labels, and we can easily see that many heroes are actually in many corners of the city, and maybe you have ordinary and great civilian heroes around you!
