Earth is just a small stage in the vast cosmic arena. ...... Think of some never-ending brutality that happens between a group of people in a corner of this little dot and another group of people in another corner of the same little dot who can hardly tell any difference. How often they misunderstand each other, how urgently they can try to destroy each other's desires, how fierce the hatred between them can be.
...... Perhaps nothing shows more about the stupidity of human self-sufficiency than this photograph of our tiny world taken from distant space. For me, it's also a reminder of our responsibility to be kinder with each other and to preserve and cherish this little dark blue dot, the only home we know so far.
