The architectural style is unique and the functional facilities are advanced

The Art Museum of China and the Museum of Intangible Cultural Heritage of China are national key cultural facilities decided to be built during the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, and are national cultural temples that display China's excellent traditional culture, carry forward the aesthetics and core values of the Chinese nation, and establish cultural self-confidence and national self-confidence.

The museum has a construction area of 91,126 square meters, a total of six floors on the ground, located on the north extension of the central axis of Beijing, the west side is close to the Olympic Forest Park, the east side is located to commemorate the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China History Exhibition Hall, the north side is the China Science and Technology Museum, the south side has the Chinese Historical Research Institute, the "Bird's Nest" Gymnasium and other buildings, a winding dragon-shaped water system runs through it, linking the ecology, science and technology, culture and Olympic themes, forming a new cultural cluster.

The design concept of the Art Museum of China and the Museum of Intangible Cultural Heritage of China originates from the in-depth excavation and refinement of traditional Chinese culture. The overall design concept draws on the proportions of the Taihe Hall of classical Chinese architecture, and the axis of the building plan is symmetrically unfolded left and right, reflecting the symmetrical aesthetic of traditional Chinese architecture. The building façade is three-stage, divided from bottom to top into stone base, transparent platform layer and floating building layer, which represent the heaven, earth and people of traditional Chinese culture respectively, and embody the harmonious beauty of traditional Chinese architecture.

The architectural design does not stop at the traditional three-stage style, but further innovates and evolves, picking up the tallest two floors of the above-ground building six meters outward to form a soaring shape, and its creative inspiration is derived from the traditional Chinese arts and crafts multi-treasure box, which means that the internal treasure and display of national art treasures. The outer surface texture adopts warm copper color curtain wall material, and the pattern draws on the multi-treasure grid composition of the flower window in classical Chinese architecture and the traditional collection furniture Bogu frame, and forms a unique innovative pattern with the characteristics of arts and crafts through the abstract refinement of the traditional pattern. This metal grille decoration method plays an effective shading effect on the indoor space, while the hollow form naturally presents vivid changes in light and shadow, making the whole building appear flexible and vibrant.
