On April 27th, the first Big Country Craftsman Innovation Exchange Conference opened at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center. At the invitation of the Guangdong Provincial Federation of Trade Unions, Chen Zongyi, the "Star of Employee Skills" of the Longgang District Federation of Trade Unions and the jade carving master of Guangdong Province, participated in the exchange conference on behalf of the contributors of outstanding innovation achievements in guangdong province. Through the continuous exploration of jade carving techniques, combined with the brush painting technique, the 35-year-old Chen Zongyi has innovated "Shouzheng", and has developed the jade carving process from a practical jewelry jade ornament to a pure art ornament "jade carving stone art". In the past 18 years in the industry, he has personally become a national-level senior technician, and his jade carving works have won 16 gold awards, 30 silver and bronze awards, 4 design patents, 39 Guangdong provincial copyright certificates, and become the "award-winning professional household" and "technical bull" in the jade carving industry.
In addition to his tireless pursuit, Chen Zongyi also put this traditional skill into the hands of the younger generation by taking apprentices. From 2007, when 16 apprentices were brought out from the countryside, to today become the leader of the "Chen Zongyi Labor Model and Craftsman Talent Innovation Studio", through demonstration and backbone leadership, Chen Zongyi has passed on the jade carving skills in Longgang. Longgang Sanlian Crystal Jade Culture Village is known as "Shenzhen Jade Capital", rooted in Yudu for more than ten years, Chen Zongyi has become a witness and witness of Sanlian Jade Cultural Industry, and was also named the first "Most Beautiful Employed Person" in Longgang District.

Engaged in jade carving for more than ten years, in the hot land of innovation and entrepreneurship in Longgang Sanlian, Chen Zongyi realized his own life value. In the face of the accolades and applause that came, he still maintained a humble and skillful attitude, studied hard in the vast and profound jade world, and ran hard towards his childhood dream. Chen Zongyi was born in Fujian, where famous carvers are born, and when he was a child, he loved to paint and like to observe the grass and trees, people and things around him. The interest of the teenager sowed the seed of beauty in his heart. With this seed, he studied art again, and went all the way to the jade carving industry.
The engraving is amorphous. Jade carving not only requires exquisite carving skills, but also has a unique aesthetic vision and excellent design ability. The reason why Chen Zongyi's carving works are not vulgar, are favored and recognized by the industry, and are concerned and collected by people inside and outside the industry comes from his dedicated innovation in jade carving works. With his unique vision and profound understanding, he has given new connotations to jade carving works, allowing them to carve the hearts of modern people, refract and tell the contemporary aesthetics, and the same frequency as the times. While immersing himself in creation, Chen Zongyi did not forget to continuously learn from the strengths of others. He often participates in jade carving works and arts and crafts exhibitions throughout the country, broadening his horizons, and also disseminating the jade carving skills and brands of Shenzhen Sanlian. In 2016, Chen Zongyi's work "Guan Persuasion of All Beings" won the gold medal of the "Hundred Flowers Award" of the National Art Exhibition of Chinese Arts and Crafts, and in 2017, his work "Jade Face Thousand Hands" won the Gold Medal of the China (Hangzhou) National Arts and Crafts Exhibition. In 2017, the work "Wu" won the Best Craft Award of the "Tiangong Award" for Chinese jade carving. In 2019, he participated in the China Skills Competition and was awarded the National Top 100 (Carving) Craftsmen. In 2021, he won the second place in the 9th Employee Skill Star Competition in Longgang District, and was awarded the title of "Employee Skill Star" by the Longgang District Federation of Trade Unions, the Longgang District Science and Technology Innovation Bureau, and the Longgang District Human Resources Bureau. In the same year, he was awarded the honorary title of Guangdong Provincial Jade Carving Master. Chen Zongyi's many award-winning works have been permanently collected and exhibited by provincial and municipal museums, and have made outstanding contributions to providing society with educational practice and arts and crafts technical skills.
While constantly harvesting various honors, Chen Zongyi still continues to explore the road of technological innovation in the jade carving industry: in the design and production process, he uses the method of combining intelligent numerical control to achieve the expansion of the scale of jade carving production, and has achieved good economic and social benefits.

"A piece of jade to send the original heart", from apprenticeship to independent production to the establishment of a company, Chen Zongyi not only regards jade carving as a job and a career, but also has a sense of mission to spread jade culture and inherit jade carving skills. Since 2008, Chen Zongyi has "taught by example", bringing out dozens of apprentices from Sanlian to teach them to solve technical problems and teach them jade carving skills. Nowadays, some of his apprentices have obtained the title of intermediate arts and crafts artists, and some have independently opened studios to let the jade carving skills "open up and scatter leaves" and pass on the torch.
Take it a step further. Last year, Chen Zongyi became the leader of the "Chen Zongyi Labor Model and Craftsman Talent Innovation Studio". The studio is led by the Longgang District Federation of Trade Unions, and jointly built by the Jihua Street Federation of Trade Unions and Shenzhen Yuzeya Jewelry Co., Ltd. With Chen Zongyi as the leader and outstanding employees of the enterprise as the backbone, the studio has formed an innovative work team. The studio carries forward the spirit of labor models and the spirit of craftsmen, creates a glorious social trend of labor and a dedicated atmosphere of excellence, and becomes an important base for realizing work experience exchange and cultivating outstanding talents in the industry, and has also become an important platform for condensing the elite strength of the industry to promote the innovation and development of the industry.
