Jointly implemented by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of China, the "Training Program for Inheritors of Intangible Cultural Heritage in China" is a basic task for the protection of intangible cultural heritage in China and an important task proposed in the Outline of the National Cultural Development Plan for the 13th Five-Year Plan. In 2019, Shantou University took the College of Literature as the application unit, Professor Chen Jingxi, the "Famous Propaganda Culture Master of Shantou City", as the project leader, and the international Chaoqu opera culture as the main research and training project, and declared to participate in the Chinese Intangible Cultural Heritage Research and Training Program.

From March 31 to April 30, 2022, Shantou University and Guangdong Chao Theatre jointly held the "Chinese Intangible Cultural Heritage Inheritors Training Program: The First International Teochew Opera Culture Seminar" in a combination of online and offline methods. The seminar organizes intensive training for Teochew opera inheritors from all over Chaoshan and Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Hong Kong.

Chen Jingxi, director of the Chaoshan Cultural Research Center of Shantou University, director of the Religious Culture Research Center, and deputy director of the first International Chaozhou Opera Culture Training Class, introduced that after the unveiling ceremony, an international teaching achievement report performance combined with offline and online directing by Zheng Songming, a national first-class director, and Tang Lijuan, a national second-level actor, was held.
