Xilin Gol Museum is located in Xilin Gol Cultural Park, Xilinhot New District, was founded in 2004, officially opened to the public free of charge in 2009, in June 2021 merged with the Xilin Gol League Cultural Relics Protection and Management Station to establish the Xilin Gol Museum (Xilin Gol League Cultural Relics and Archaeology Protection and Research Center), affiliated to the Xilin Gol League Bureau of Culture, Sports, Tourism, Radio, Film and Television, is a public welfare institution, is a collection, display, research, archaeology, information collection, scientific research projects, public education, cultural exchanges and daily management of the exhibition hall, A comprehensive museum with daily monitoring of exhibits.
The total construction area of the museum is 21,000 square meters, the exhibition hall area is 12,000 square meters, the warehouse area is 2,000 square meters, and the cultural relics collection is nearly 1,000 pieces. At present, the open exhibition halls are: "Yihe Naur Northern Wei Tomb Group Exhibition", "Yuan Shangdu Ruins", "Jin si Tai Cave Site Exhibition", "Mangyuan Miniature Vast Grassland My Home - Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition".
Group exhibition of northern Wei tombs in Yihe And Nao'er
This exhibition mainly displays the cultural relics and treasures excavated from the Northern Wei tombs of The White Banner Yi and The Nao'er Sumu in Ximeng from 2010 to 2013, including glass bowls, silver gilt bowls, gold and silver jewelry and dozens of fine cultural relics with scientific research and appreciation value. The archaeological excavations of the Northern Wei tomb group in Yihe Naur were rated as "Top Ten New Archaeological Discoveries in China in 2014". The excavated cultural relics displayed in this exhibition have profound cultural heritage and diversity, reflecting an important stage in the gradual movement of Chinese civilization towards pluralism and integration during the Wei and Jin Dynasties.
World Cultural Heritage - Yuan Shangdu Ruins Exhibition
The Site of Yuan Shangdu is the only World Heritage Site in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region so far, and was built in 1256 AD. This exhibition shows the important historical materials and empirical evidence of the Yuanshangdu ruins and their related relics from the perspectives of ethnic integration, city site layout, and application for the yuanshangdu ruins, which is conducive to our deeper understanding of the cultural connotation of this world cultural heritage.
Exhibition of the ruins of the Kingsteen Caves
The Kingstai Cave site is an important early human cave site in northern China, preserving cultural remains from the middle and late Paleolithic to the Bronze Age. The Jinstai Cave site has a thick cultural layer, and the types of relics unearthed are many and the time span is long, which is rare in similar sites. This exhibition presents hundreds of Neolithic stone tools to the public, enabling the public to more intuitively understand the production methods and living conditions of the primitive ancestors living in the Xilin Gol region in the Neolithic and Paleolithic periods.
The Epitome of Mangyuan - Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition
This exhibition uses a large number of cultural relics exhibits to show the public the production and lifestyle and folk customs and folk culture of the people of all ethnic groups in the Xilin Gol League, so that the public can have a deeper understanding of the essence of the intangible cultural heritage of the Xilin Gol League, and further feel the historical facts of the exchanges and exchanges between the people of all ethnic groups in the whole League in the process of long-term settlement.
With its rich collection of cultural relics, the Xilin Gol Museum carries forward the spirit of watching out for each other and uniting in struggle, showing the historical culture, revolutionary culture and advanced culture of socialism with Chinese characteristics that all ethnic groups jointly develop and build on the frontiers of the motherland, and is a social education place for cultivating and practicing the core values of socialism and casting a solid sense of the Chinese national community, and is also the first choice for understanding the humanistic history of Xilin Gol.
