Recently, the People's Literature Publishing House published "The Road of Tang Poems" co-authored by The Nobel Prize winners Le Clézio and Dong Qiang. This French bestseller was published in China for the first time, leading readers to read Tang poems together.
In the book, Le Clézio interprets his views by reading ancient Chinese poems, tasting poems, and expressing his views, and the spark of his thought as a modern person collides with the ancient Tang poems. Le Clézio stood in the perspective of a foreign writer, and Tang poetry read a different taste in his eyes. At the end of his writing, the artistic conception of Tang poetry is far-reaching and long-lasting, just like the French title "The River of Running Poetry". In addition, the book is also equipped with more than forty color illustrations, all of which are ancient paintings and calligraphy closely related to the ancient poems read by the author, further creating the atmosphere and meaning in the poems, and the text and pictures complement each other, which is a rare masterpiece.
Previously, the People's Literature Publishing House also held a special "French Nobel Prize winner invites you to take the 'Tang Poetry Road' - "Tang Poetry Road" New Book Sharing Meeting". Dong Qiang, director of the French Department of Peking University and chairman of the Fu Lei Translation and Publication Award, poet, writer and translator Xichuan, writer, scholar and secretary of the Secretariat of the China Writers Association, Qiu Huadong, and poet and professor of Beijing Normal University Ouyang Jianghe visited the RENDEZ-VOUS Bookstore in SKP-S, Beijing, to talk about the "Road of Tang Poems" and understand China's traditional culture with Le Clézio.
In the sharing session, Dong Qiang told the origin of the creation of "The Road of Tang Poems": "I have a long-term friendship with Le Clézio, and he has a special meaning to me. The reason why Dong Qiang is still engaged in French literature today and became a professor at Peking University is closely related to two people, one is Milan Kundera, and I am his student. The other is Le Clézio."
At the same time, Le Clézio also mentioned the reason for the creation in the preface of the book: "This book is the crystallization of friendship. It is largely due to my acquaintance with Professor Dong Qiang. Professor Dong is an outstanding person, both a scholar, a poet and a calligrapher. Over the years, in our conversations, the idea of writing a book of Tang poems came to mind. We decided to select some Tang poems, publish them in a collection, and provide a new French translation, accompanied by Professor Dong's calligraphy works. Together, we have selected the poems in this book, highlighting some of the most emblematic moments of this illustrious era. In the process of re-reading Tang poems, we find that Tang poems contain profound humanity. It arose out of the unknown and uncertainty of the future, through war and famine. Despite the great time gap between us, however, in the process of reading, we feel so close to the poets and artists of that era. We can understand them, that era is so similar to ours. What we want to share with our readers is precisely such a deep touch. ”

Regarding the origin of the name of the book "The Road of Tang Poetry", Dong Qiang said: "Why do I have to let Chinese titled 'The Road of Tang Poetry'? The French people like the imagery of the river, the rivers of poetry are always rushing, the French people especially like this topic, and after I proposed it, Le Clézio immediately accepted it, saying that the topic was good - because he himself has the ability of a novelist to grasp the big scene, and it is very remarkable to be able to find this way in so many things. It's like saying he's putting himself in as a world-class Nobel Prize-winning novelist. So don't look at it as a small book, it's like an artist's not very huge work, but in the microscopic reflects the macroscopic, the universe, the volume is very large. ”
Le Clézio also said in a video specially recorded for Chinese readers: "Tang poetry, especially Li Bai's poetry, is full of the power of love, which is a force of cosmic kinetic energy, which is the reason why Tang poetry is incomparably powerful, bringing a kind of eternity to Tang poetry." 1300 years of time separated us from Tang poetry, but it is still alive today. Together with Dong Qiang, he created "The Road of Tang Poetry", dedicated to the Tang poems of Acura Absolute and Acura human beings.
