Pay attention to the reading dogs
As the saying goes, "Wen Wu is the first, Wu wu is the second", since ancient times! After all, compared with the samurai, in the end, they can still intuitively distinguish between victory and defeat; compared with the scribes, although each person's article is wonderful, but the reader's preferences are different, and they are reluctantly divided, and there are still many people who are dissatisfied.
Therefore, although some critics have given high praise to the good articles and poems of the past generations, if they say "first", they will attract criticism. For example, in the evaluation of Tang poetry, the Ming Dynasty's "Shi Xue" said that Du Fu's "Ascending" was "the first poem of tang seven dialects and the first of the seven laws of ancient and modern times"; and the "Canglang Poetry" also yun "Tang Dynasty seven-word poetry should be Cui Hao's "Yellow Crane Tower" as the first"! So who is the first, in the end, it is impossible to distinguish, can only be said according to the reader's preferences.
Although "wen wu is the first", some contemporary scholars are courageous and commendable, and even selected 100 tang poems from the more than 50,000 Tang poems in the Quan Tang Poems, ranked them, and compiled a "Tang Poetry Ranking"!
Although this "Tang Poetry Ranking" has attracted a lot of criticism in terms of ranking, its selected Tang poems are indeed famous pieces that can be called unique songs throughout the ages, especially the top ten. They are: Cui Hao's "Yellow Crane Tower", Wang Wei's "Sending Yuan Er Envoy Anxi", Wang Zhizhuo's "Liangzhou Ci", Wang Zhizhuo's "Deng stork and Bird Tower", Du Fu's "Dengyue Yang Lou", Liu Zongyuan's "DengliuZhou City Tower", Meng Haoran's "Lindongting Lake", Chang Jian's "The Zen Courtyard After the Broken Mountain Temple", Wang Bo's "Sending Du Shaofu's Ren ShuZhou" and the tenth Li Bai's "Shu Dao Difficulty"!
The other nine poems are familiar to everyone, and they can also recite the famous sentences in them, but this sixth-ranked Liu Zongyuan's "Dengliuzhou City Tower" is quite unfamiliar, and many people have not even heard of this poem. And first read this sixth-ranked Tang poem:

The high-rise buildings in the city are connected to the great wilderness, and the sea and sky are worried and confused.
The wind was fluttering with hibiscus water, and the dense rain was obliquely invading the wall.
The ridge trees are heavily shaded, and the river flows like nine ileums.
A total of 100 Yue tattoos, like a self-music book lagging in a township.
This poem was composed after Liu Zongyuan was degraded after experiencing the failure of Yongzhen's reform, and his friends who participated in the reform movement with him at that time, "Two Kings and Eight Simas", were also degraded, and even several were demoted to death. The "Zhangting Fenglian Four Prefectures" in the poem title is the four people who were degraded to Zhangzhou, Tingzhou, Fengzhou, and Lianzhou, all of whom were liu Zongyuan's friends, including the poet Liu Yuxi.
This poem is written from the top of the building, ascending to the heights and far away, from the delicate and melancholy close-up to the vast and boundless far-reaching, lyrical with the scene, without trace. And its writing language is also somber and frustrated, expressing the feelings of nostalgia and sorrow sincerely and deeply. When you taste it carefully, it is indeed a wonderful poem.
Although it is a good poem, it is really puzzling to rate this poem as the sixth in the "Tang Poetry Ranking". After all, the poetry of the Tang Dynasty is voluminous, and tang poems that are better than this poem, have good sentences, and have more far-reaching influences abound, so why list this poem that is not well-known in the folk as the sixth?
