The Qin Dynasty, from the founding of the Qin Dynasty in the twenty-sixth year of Qin Shi Huang to the demise of Qin II in three years, was only fifteen years. These fifteen years can be said to have passed in an instant in history. But the Qin Dynasty was of great significance to the entire history of China. The establishment of the Qin Dynasty was the first time in Chinese history that a situation of great unification appeared.
Xia, Shang, and The Three Dynasties, the concept of the state already had a certain level, and in the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States, they began to change from slavery to feudalism, at this time, the wars for hegemony and annexation continued one after another, until the Qin Dynasty unified the six kingdoms and realized the great unification. Qin Wangzheng created the first unified, multi-ethnic, centralized feudal unified state in Chinese history, that is, the Qin Dynasty. Since the beginning of the Qin Dynasty, this political system has continued for more than two thousand years, "the government of two thousand years, the qin government also"!
The most famous qin dynasty in history can be said to be the war to unify the six kingdoms, starting from 236 BC until 221 BC, with the han, Zhao, Wei, Qi, Chu, Yan and other powerful countries in vain, in exchange for the unprecedented unification of the country. This was the first large-scale war of unification in China's history. Before the war of unification, all countries were aimed at annexation and encroachment, and the purpose of Qin's destruction of the Six Kingdoms was to "destroy the princes, become an emperor, and unify the world"!
In addition to the unification war to destroy the Six Kingdoms, Qin also had two large-scale national wars, one was to attack the Xiongnu in the north, and the other was to attack the Baiyue in Nanping. Attacking the Xiongnu in the north, the Great Qin Xing army of more than 300,000 people, and finally ended with the Xiongnu far away, opening up thousands of miles of land, and building the Great Wall; Nanping Baiyue successively increased the number of troops as high as more than 500,000, and finally equalized Baiyue, established Minzhong, Nanhai, Guilin, Xiang County, and moved to Lingnan. These two national wars, both in terms of scale and result, were incomparable to the wars before the pre-Qin Dynasty.
In the pre-Qin period, wars between the Central Plains states and the surrounding minority tribes were constant, and the purpose of wars at that time was mainly to compete for resources and living space. After Qin Shi Huang unified the Six Kingdoms, the northern attack on the Xiongnu and the southern Ping Baiyue were to expand the territory and defend the frontier. The Xiongnu have been a major problem in the Central Plains since ancient times, and after Qin Shi Huang unified the Six Kingdoms, the development of the Xiongnu was also booming, and the southward movement of the Xiongnu posed a huge threat to the Central Plains. Qin Wang zheng had just unified the six kingdoms and was at the time of showing his martial arts, the war between Qin and xiongnu was impossible to avoid, and the northern attack on the Xiongnu was more to guard the northern frontier of the Central Plains; while the qin and Baiyue wars were different, most of them were from the primitive tribal stage, and there was no unified regime. During the Warring States period, Baiyue belonged to Chu, but after Qin Shi Huang destroyed Chu, Baiyue did not submit to Qin, but rebelled, which led to the ten-year-long Qin-Vietnam War.
In the Qin Dynasty, there was also a famous peasant war, that is, in 209 BC, chen sheng and Wu Guang led a peasant uprising. The Great Peasant Uprising led by Chen Sheng and Wu Guang was also the first Great Peasant Uprising in Chinese history. This uprising ignited the north and south of the great river in less than three months, and in less than three years it overthrew the rule of the Qin Dynasty. The root cause of the outbreak of the great uprising was the "tyranny" of the Qin Dynasty, and the endless servitude and torture of the Qin Dynasty eventually aroused the anger of the broad masses of working people, and mobilized anti-Qin forces from all walks of life under the slogan of "cutting down no way and cursing qin", and finally ended the brutal rule of the Qin Dynasty.
