For three days from the evening of January 2, Yingying's family was so anxious that they went to the Yandang Mountain Scenic Area to search with the local rescue team for many days without success.

At about 9 a.m. on January 5, Ms. Li, who lives in Qingshan District, Wuhan City, called the Chutian Metropolis Daily Jimu News Hotline, saying that her daughter Yingying (pseudonym) was traveling alone in Zhejiang, but since about 7 p.m. on January 2, she had disappeared after replying to a sentence in WeChat that "tomorrow will be back", and her family was very anxious.
At about 10 a.m., a reporter from Jimu News rushed to Ms. Li's home and saw her sitting on a chair and crying sadly, while relatives, friends, and neighbors were constantly comforting her. The reporter learned in the interview that Yingying is a "donkey friend" who will travel when she is free. At the end of last year, Yingying told her mother that she was going to travel to Yandang Mountain in Yueqing, Zhejiang Province, during the New Year's Day holiday.
"On the day of departure, I sent her to the train station." According to Ms. Li's recollection, when her daughter left, she also agreed with her to return to Han on January 3. But at 19:17 on the evening of January 2, she sent a message to her daughter asking when she would arrive in Han, but her daughter only replied with a "tomorrow back", and then there was no message.
Ms. Li said that her daughter did not reply to the message in time, which was unusual, and she became suspicious that night, but thought that her daughter might be too tired to rest, so she did not care. All day on January 3, Ms. Li tried to contact her daughter, but Yingying's mobile phone could be opened, but no one answered. Until about 7 o'clock that night, yingying still did not reply, and Ms. Li, who was impatient, hurriedly called the police.
On the morning of January 4, Ms. Li and her family, who had been waiting for a fruitless night, were even more anxious, and Yingying's father and brother-in-law, Mr. Chen, immediately flew to the scene of the incident. At the same time, the Wuhan Qingshan police also contacted the Wenzhou police in Zhejiang Province, asking local forces to help find people.

According to Captain Xu, Yingying got lost in the mountains on the night of January 2, couldn't see clearly because of the darkness, and fell into the valley with a height difference of about 10 meters. Yingying told reporters that at about 19:00 on the evening of January 2, she was going down the mountain, because it was dark, coupled with poor vision, she prepared to go down the mountain as soon as possible according to the guidance of passers-by, and as a result, she lost her way and accidentally fell down the mountain. Yingying said she found herself unable to walk and could only lie down, so she could not get up and look for her mobile phone.
