If "University" is an asceticism, who would dare to come close to "University"? In this sense, to say that lattice is to remove materialistic desires, I personally think it is wrong.

In fact, the core of the lattice is sincerity. Moreover, Wang Yangming has already made it clear that "the merit of sincerity is only a matter of character." Wang Yangming did not say that the grid is to eliminate materialism.

The merit of sincerity is only a matter of character. The literal meaning of this sentence is easy to understand. However, its deep and broad meaning is difficult to touch. What's the hard part? The difficulty lies in our understanding of sincerity or sincerity, whether it is shallow or deep. The difficulty is in our own hearts, sincerity and insincerity.

Sincerely, its linguistic meaning is easy to understand. Honesty, sincerity, honesty, sincerity, sincerity, sincerity. However, the philosophical meaning of sincerity is more difficult to understand. Philosophical sincerity, the meaning of which is highly condensed. The sincerity of language is the sincerity of philosophy after dilution. Although the "sincerity" in the original meaning of philosophy is difficult to understand, we can still experience the sincerity of philosophy from the linguistic meaning of sincerity.

It is important to understand the sincerity of philosophy. Because of philosophical sincerity, the bearer is a cosmic truth. Truth is what everyone often says. Sincerity and oneness are unification. The so-called unity means that everything in the universe is one. That is, all things together are one, and apart are all things. Everyone has used fans, folding fans. Lao Tzu already made the philosophical meaning of "sincerity" very clear in his Tao Te Ching. Lao Tzu said, "The Tao gives birth to one, one to two, two to three, and three to all things." (Tao Te Ching) All things are brothers born of the Tao.

For example, there are countless flowers and fruits on a tree. But from the fruit to the flower, from the flower to the leaf, from the leaf to the branch, from the branch to the stem, and finally, from the stem to the root. So, we will suddenly realize. Although the branches and flowers of the tree are different for you, me, and him. However, when it comes to the root, everyone's root is one. From the point of view it is one, from the fruit it is seven or eight. Put it away as one, let it go as two, and let it go as two or three. Therefore, more is one, and one is more. In the body is one, in the use of all things. Why treat people with sincerity? Because, you are me, I am him. Together, they are one person, and apart are you, me, and him. Since you, me, and he are one, the relationship is originally a state of "sincerity." In this way, if I deceive you, is not that tantamount to deceiving myself? Am I duplicitous to him exactly the same as someone else's duplicity about himself? I don't understand it. However, this is the case. If I punched you, would you return my punch? Yes, definitely. So, if I hit you, wouldn't that mean I hit myself? Indeed, philosophical sincerity is difficult to understand. In fact, sincerity is the heart of "no good and no evil". People do not distinguish between you, me, or him, and whether things are good, medium, or bad, is sincerity.

After understanding the philosophical essence of sincerity, it is much easier to understand Wang Yangming's statement that "the merit of sincerity is only a thing."

What is a lattice? Lattice is not simply a matter of materialism. The key to the lattice is to remove the object of the object at the time of "I am in the lattice", so that the subject and the object become one. The merit of sincerity is the work of transforming the subject and the object into one. When the subject and the object merge into one, it is the state of sincerity. In fact, the relationship between the subject and the object is originally a relationship of sincerity. Of course, this is said from the perspective of "tao sheng all things".
