All those who study and cultivate themselves will only work hard for one thing throughout their lives. From youth to old age, from morning to twilight, whether there is something or nothing, just doing one thing, that is, Mencius said "there must be something".

Here, Mr. Yang Ming emphasized the monism and originality of "to conscience". The unity and originality of "to conscience" are embodied in two aspects: one is that all the efforts made by a person who is a person who studies and cultivates himself are all aimed at inventing conscience and discernment. The second is that anyone who studies and cultivates himself, there is only one thing he can do in his life, that is, "to conscience". If a person who studies and cultivates himself does not devote himself to the invention of conscience all the time, then all his so-called study and cultivation will be in vain. It is important to know that as far as personal cultivation is concerned, conscience is the "anchor of all knowledge and kung fu", and only by taking "conscience" as the goal and grasping the root of conscience can knowledge and kung fu have a place to settle and people can truly benefit.
Mencius's "there must be something" is about conscience. Before the invention of conscience, it was through learning and kung fu to "reach conscience", and everything was done for the invention of conscience; After the invention of conscience, it is to cultivate and expand conscience, and everything is the popular use of conscience. There is nothing else in the world except the invention of conscience and the application of conscience. Conscience plays a role in people's hearts all the time, without any interruption of a minute or a second, that is, "something must happen", and it is impossible to be nothing.
