The 2021 report card of new energy vehicle companies is coming! BYD sells 600,000 vehicles a year, and "Xiao Weili" reshuffled

Recently, BYD handed over the 2021 report card, and the annual sales of new energy vehicles exceeded 600,000 units, an increase of 2.2 times year-on-year. Among the new car-making forces, Xiaopeng Automobile came out on top, with an annual delivery volume of 98,000 units, followed by Weilai and Ideal Automobile, with an annual delivery of 91,000 units and 90,000 units respectively.

BYD reported that the sales of new energy vehicles exceeded 600,000 units in 2021

On January 3, 2022, BYD (002594. SZ) announced the 2021 production and sales express, the annual production of new energy vehicles in 2021 was 607,100 units, an increase of 219.76% year-on-year, and sales volume was 603,800 units, an increase of 218.30% compared with 2020, and an increase of 163.08% compared with 2019.

Among them, passenger car sales were 593,700 units, an increase of 231.60% year-on-year, including 320,800 pure electric vehicles and 272,900 plug-in hybrid vehicles, an increase of 144.95% and 467.62% respectively over the previous year. As of December 31, 2021, BYD's total production and sales of new energy passenger vehicles exceeded 1.51 million units. In addition, the company's total installed capacity of new energy vehicle power batteries and energy storage batteries in 2021 is about 37.92GWh, compared with 12.60GWh in 2020, an increase of 201.01%.

From the monthly data, BYD's new energy vehicle sales from January to December 2021 were 20178 units, 10355 vehicles, 24218 vehicles, 25662 vehicles, 32800 vehicles, 41366 vehicles, 50492 vehicles, 61409 vehicles, 71099 vehicles, 81040 vehicles, 91219 vehicles, 93945 vehicles, with a year-on-year increase of the lowest 97.48% and a maximum of 301.81%.

Compared with 2019, sales in 2021, except for the decline in sales in January to March, sales in the remaining months have increased significantly. Among them, sales increased by 713% in November, 11,220 units in November 2019, and 91,219 units in November 2021.

According to BYD's previously disclosed three quarterly report data, from January to September 2021, the company achieved operating income of 145.192 billion yuan, an increase of 38.25% over the same period of the previous year; but the net profit attributable to the mother fell by 28.43% year-on-year to 2.443 billion yuan. One of the reasons for the company's increase in revenue and no increase in profit may be the decline in gross profit margin, the comprehensive gross profit margin in the first three quarters of 2021 was 12.97%, compared with 20.75% in the same period of 2020, a difference of 7.77 percentage points between the two.

In addition to BYD, many new car-making forces have recently announced the delivery in 2021.

According to the announcement, the total delivery of Xiaopeng Automobile-W (09868.HK, XPEV.N) in 2021 reached 98,155 units, an increase of 263% year-on-year. Among them, the Xiaopeng Intelligent Coupe P7 delivered a total of 60,569 vehicles throughout the year, an increase of 302% year-on-year; G3 and G3i smart SUVs delivered a total of 29,721 vehicles, an increase of 148% year-on-year; and the total delivery of the smart home car P5 reached 7865 vehicles. As of December 31, 2021, Xiaopeng Motors' historical cumulative deliveries of smart electric vehicles reached 138,000 units.

Nio (NIO.N) announced on its official Weibo that it will deliver 91,429 new cars in 2021, an increase of 109.1% year-on-year, and NIO vehicles have delivered a total of 167,100 units. In 2021, the competitiveness of THE NIO system is developing rapidly, and it has successively released the smart electric flagship sedan ET7 and the medium-sized intelligent electric coupe ET5, providing 6 FOTA upgrades for ES8, ES6 and EC6 users. In terms of the global market, NIO released the Norwegian strategy and officially entered the Norwegian market in a system-wide manner.

At the same time, NIO Power's layout speed reached a new high, adding 505 supercharging stations, 2598 supercharge piles, 359 destination charging stations, 1984 destination charging stations, 605 replacement stations (including 160 high-speed replacement stations) in 2021, and more than 90,000 third-party charging piles. Weilai has built a total of 778 substations around the world, the "five vertical, three horizontal and four metropolitan areas" high-speed power exchange network has laid out 172 high-altitude substations, and Power North and Power Up Plan have opened up 18 power-up routes.

Ideal Auto-W (02015.HK, LI.O) announced that in 2021, Ideal ONE delivered a total of 90,491 units, an increase of 177.4% year-on-year. Since its delivery, the cumulative delivery volume of ideal ONE has reached 124,100 units. As of December 31, 2021, Ideal Auto has 206 retail centers in the country, covering 102 cities, and 278 after-sales maintenance centers and authorized sheet metal spray centers, covering 204 cities.

In addition, the cumulative total delivery volume of Nezha Automobile in 2021 was 69,674 units, an increase of 362% year-on-year, and the cumulative delivery volume of the history was 95,977 vehicles. At present, there are 331 Nezha centers in the country, covering 193 cities. Nezha covers 150 cities with 1637 smart charging stations and 19663 fast charging piles.

WM Motor delivered 44,157 smart pure trams in 2021, with a cumulative delivery volume of 88,686 since delivery. In 2021, a total of 43,121 units of zero-run cars were delivered, mainly zero-run T03, with 38,463 units delivered throughout the year.
