On January 3, BYD Automobile announced its december 2021 sales. According to the data, BYD's passenger car sales in the whole series of 97,990 units in the month, up 77.9% year-on-year. Among them, new energy passenger cars soared 236.4% year-on-year to 92823, breaking through the 90,000 mark for two consecutive months, once again breaking the record.

With the release of December data, BYD's full-year sales figures for passenger cars in 2021 have also come to light, reaching 730093, an increase of 75.4% year-on-year; the annual sales of new energy passenger cars 593745, an increase of 231.6% year-on-year. This is also a new Chinese record as of now, which is 2.4 times the previous Chinese record.

In terms of sales segmentation, BYD's new energy passenger car sales showed a trend of EV pure electricity and DM hybrid "two legs, walking in tandem". With the support of core technologies such as blade battery, DM-i super hybrid and e-platform 3.0, in December 2021, BYD EV models and DM models sold 48317 and 44506, respectively, an increase of 148.0% and 448.6% year-on-year; during the year, the cumulative sales of BYD EV models and DM models reached 320810 and 272935, respectively, an increase of 144.9% and 467.6% year-on-year.

The Flagship Han of the Dynasty series continued its usual popularity, with 13,701 units sold in December. During the year, BYD Han sold more than 10,000 vehicles in a single month on six occasions and sold more than 117,000 vehicles in the whole year, ranking first in the sales list of medium and large cars of Chinese brands. As a mid-to-high-end model with an average transaction price of more than 250,000, BYD Han has become the only medium- and large-sized sedan of Chinese brands in the domestic auto market that can compete head-on with BBA.

In December, BYD Han EV once again sold more than 10,000 bicycles, reaching 10,301. In the previous November, BYD Han EV successfully achieved a single model exceeding 10,000, becoming China's first pure electric medium and large sedan with monthly sales of more than 10,000, and helping Han models to compete with or even surpass German luxury brands to rank among the top 3 in medium and large car sales.

The new generation of Tang, which is also the flagship model, sold 9,000 in December, nearly doubling year-on-year; during the year, the Tang family recorded sales of 54,204, showing its strong product strength.

During the year, the Cumulative Sales of the Song Family exceeded 200,000, challenging the joint venture SUVs of the same level.
