Zheng Weishan was a general who came out of Dabie Mountain, and in his early years his father was also a revolutionary, who embarked on the revolutionary road under his influence, and he was only 12 years old at the time of the Jute Uprising, serving as the leader of the children's regiment and deputy instructor of the Red Guards, until the age of 15, when he led more than 70 people to join the Red Fourth Front army in Eyuwan.
After Zheng Weishan joined the Fourth Front of the Red Army, he was fortunate to become Xu Xiangqian's messenger. Under the influence of Xu, Zheng Weishan made rapid progress, and soon became a squad leader and company instructor, and participated in three anti-encirclement and suppression battles and the fourth anti-encirclement and suppression campaign.
When the Red Fourth Front withdrew west to Sichuan and Shaanxi, due to Zheng Weishan's bravery in battle, he was promoted to regimental political commissar and divisional political commissar within the same year, and at this time, he was only 18 years old.
In the Sichuan-Shaanxi region, he fought against the Sichuan army, commanded the troops to kill the enemy, and fought many victorious battles.
1936 was the most difficult year for Zheng Weishan, and also the most difficult year for the Red Fourth Front, he led his troops to meet the Red Second Front, climbed the snowy mountains three times, and crossed the grassland three times.
After the three major fronts met the divisions, some of the troops of the Red Fourth Front crossed the Yellow River and marched to Ganxi, expanded the development base area, and reorganized it into the Western Route Army. Halfway through, it encountered the attack of more than 100,000 people of the Ma family army of the Qinghai warlord Ma Bufang, and the entire army of the Western Route Army was defeated, and Zheng Weishan was one of the few commanders who escaped death.
After he was injured, he escaped the search and arrest of Ma Jiajun under the treatment of his fellow villagers, and waited for his injuries to get better. So he went to northern Shaanxi to look for a large army, and he begged all the way, secretly determined that he would avenge the death of his comrades-
After returning to Yan'an in northern Shaanxi, the organization arranged for him to teach at Kang University. After the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japan, he served as vice president of the Kang University Branch. Later, he served as the regimental commander and deputy commander of the military sub-district in the Eighth Route Army.
During the Liberation War, he served as commander of the 3rd Column in the Jin-Cha-Ji Field Army, and in the Battle of Qingfengdian, under the command of Yang Dezhi. Achieved a good result of annihilating 17,000 enemy troops. It also set a precedent for the liberation of the large city of Shijiazhuang.
In January 1948, he led the third column of the Second Corps of the Jin-Cha-Ji Field Army to engage the 35th Army on which Fu Zuoyi started, and under the temptation of the enemy, he destroyed more than 7,000 people in a division of the 35th Army.
In November of the same year, at the Battle of Zhangjiakou, Zheng Weishan once again cooperated with his neighbors to surround Fu Zuoyi's 35th Army in Xinbao, which eventually led to the total annihilation of the 35th Army.
In 1949, Zheng Weishan's three columns were reorganized into the 63rd Army, and they went to the Great Northwest to liberate Taiyuan, Lanzhou and other major cities with brother troops.
During the Battle of Lanzhou, he faced Ma Bufang's Ma Family Army, once an enemy of the Western Route Army. During this battle, Zheng Weishan ordered the artillery regiment of the army to pour all the shells on the position of the Majia Army, and the ghosts of the Majia Army cried wolf. Ma Bufang's main force was completely annihilated, and the only thing that allowed Ma Bufang to escape left regrets, but he also comforted the comrades who died in the Western Route Army.
