After the defeat of the Western Route Army, Bi Zhanyun, with loyalty to the party, begged all the way back to Yan'an

After walking out of the Qilian Mountains to Lanzhou, Bi Zhanyun, chief of staff of the Red Fifth Army of the Western Route Army, was finally relieved, and he thought he could rest, but things were completely unexpected.

Lanzhou was still Ma Bufang's domain, and he set up sentries everywhere to capture displaced Red Army fighters. Bi Zhanyun's situation is very dangerous, and he may be arrested at any time. A well-meaning person advised him: "Don't look for the Red Army anymore, it's too dangerous, find a place to hide." ”

"Do you want to hide or continue to walk" Bi Zhanyun looked at the distance confusedly, the northwest sky was vast and high, and the cold wind was blowing. We must continue to walk, we must find our own team, Bi Zhanyun made up her mind and resolutely walked forward.

Bi Zhanyun

Bi Zhanyun, formerly known as Bi Ruixiang, was born in 1903 in a peasant family in Yongxing Town, Guang'an, Sichuan Province, and at the age of 19, he became a soldier in Tang Shengzhi's army in Chengdu, serving as a platoon leader, company commander and battalion commander. The year 1928 was a turning point in Bi Zhanyun's life, when he led his troops to an uprising and joined the Red Army as a whole. After Bi Zhanyun's troops arrived in Ninggang, the Red Fourth Army organized its unit into a special service battalion, directly under the leadership of the military department, with Bi Zhanyun as the battalion commander and Chen Yi as the party representative.

Bi Zhanyun, who had been given a new life, quickly threw himself into the battle to defend the Revolutionary Base Area of Jinggangshan; he led his troops to attack Gannan and turned to western Fujian, successively participating in the battles of Changting, Longyan, and Shanghang, and repeatedly made meritorious contributions in the first to fifth anti-"encirclement and suppression" operations in the Central Soviet Region, and won the second-class Red Star Medal and was promoted to the posts of regimental commander, army chief of staff, and acting commander.

During the Long March, Bi Zhanyun actively carried out red propaganda while doing a good job in the logistics support of the whole army, and when he caught up with the large troops, the team of less than 100 people had expanded to the strength of two regiments. After the Red First and Red Fourth Fronts joined the division, Bi Zhanyun was transferred to the headquarters of the Red Fourth Front. In October 1936, Bi Zhanyun crossed the Yellow River with his troops, and later served as the chief of staff of the 5th Army of the West Route Army and the head of the cadre regiment of the West Road Army, which began the tragic journey of conquest of the Hexi Corridor.

The Red Fifth Army was defeated at the top of the platform, and there were few generals left in the whole army, and Bi Zhanyun, as a survivor of the Red Fifth Army, moved with the headquarters of the Western Route Army. But the fighting continued, and the Western Route Army turned all the way to the battle and was forced to go up the Qilian Mountains. In Shiwo, the Military and Political Committee of the Western Route Army decided to disperse the breakthrough, with Bi Zhanyun as the leader of the cadre detachment and Zeng Ri as the political commissar for three times.

Zhang Qinqiu, Ouyang Yi, Liu Ruilong, Zhang Ranhe, and other senior cadres of the Western Route Army were among them, and an infantry company with dissatisfied personnel was subordinate to them, coupled with a shortage of ammunition, and their combat effectiveness was very limited.

Everything obeyed the organization, and Bi Zhanyun set off with the cadre detachment. That night, the "Majia Army" cavalry surrounded them. Bi Zhanyun and Zeng Risan commanded the soldiers to fight back, but soon the troops were scattered, and Zeng Risan was martyred.

Bi Zhanyun rushed out with several scouts, and they struggled forward in the snow, encountering Xiong Bingnan, a member of the Military and Political Committee of the Western Route Army, and others along the way, but were quickly scattered by the enemy again. Later, several guards did not know where to go, and Bi Zhanyun could only walk alone in the Qilian Mountains.

In order to avoid the cavalry of the "Ma Family Army", Bi Zhanyun found a place to hide during the day and rushed to the road at night. He inquired all the way, and when he was hungry, he would ask people nearby for food, and when he was thirsty, he would grab a few handfuls of snow to eat. In this way, I begged all the way and finally arrived in Lanzhou.

I didn't expect lanzhou to be such a scene, with many sentries, strict interrogation, and the possibility of arrest at any time. To get out of here as soon as possible, Bi Zhanyun couldn't help but speed up his pace. He walked from Lanzhou to Xi'an, and from Xi'an to Luochuan.

Sincerely to the golden stone is open.

In the winter of 1937,

Bi Zhanyun finally found the Red Army team under the guidance of the local party organization.

The moment they saw Bi Zhanyun, their comrades-in-arms were stunned: this person's hair and beard covered his face, and it was full of dust, his clothes were torn and torn, and he couldn't even cover the wounds on his body, bleeding, attracting flies to fly around...

But no matter how much difficulty he encountered, Bi Zhanyun finally came back.

After a period of recuperation, Bi Zhanyun was appointed deputy director of the First Bureau of the Central Military Commission. During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the War of Liberation, Bi Zhanyun has been working diligently for the party.

Blowing away the yellow sand begins to reach gold. Whenever he recalled this experience of conquering the Hexi Corridor, General Bi Zhanyun said with emotion: "I will never forget this experience, this road was very difficult, and loyalty to the party made me persist. ”

In 1955, Bi Zhanyun was awarded the rank of lieutenant general.

In 1977, General Bi Zhanyun died of illness at the age of 74.
