Female commander of the Red Army's double-gun regiment: Block Ma Bufang was captured, and saw her husband 50 years later, only to return the promise

The Red Army produced a famous female regimental commander.

In the photo, she has a melon face, short eyebrows, wearing a military uniform, wearing leggings, and a heroic posture. Before the Long March, she was the captain of the women's volleyball team in the Red Army, the champion of the shuttle military exercise, and the pacesetter of tactical training. She was good at using firearms, firing both guns in unison, guns and guns hit, and military instructors thought she had the ability to lead troops. Sure enough, in the Battles of Xiangjiang and Loushan Pass, she made many military achievements.

Her name was Wang Quanyuan, the leader of the Women's Independent Regiment of the Western Route Army.

Sassy heroic female Red Army

In January 1935, in Zunyi, Guizhou, Wang Quanyuan and Wang Shoudao were married at the headquarters of the Red Army. A pair of octagonal hats, two red five-stars, just so hastily combined. At dawn the next day, the two separated again. A pair of red army newcomers, by the time of goodbye, was a year and a half later. At that time, the Red Army of the Long March crossed the Jiajin Mountain and rested in a place called the Mouth of the Two Rivers. A couple who suddenly met and missed each other spent a wonderful night in a stone house. Wang Shoudao gave Wang Quanyuan a pistol and 8-particle bullets, and Wang Quanyuan promised to make a pair of cloth shoes for Wang Shoudao herself. No one could have imagined that this would be a husband and wife.

When we meet again, it is the twilight of our lives.

In his later years, Wang Quanyuan showed a double gun action

In October 1936, the Red Fifth Army, the Red Ninth Army, and the Thirty Army, with 21,800 men, marched from Jingyuan, Gansu to the Yellow River. The three armies that crossed the river into Gansu territory were called the Western Route Army, and Wang Quanyuan was among them. Knowing that the Western Route Army had crossed the Yellow River, Ma Bufang of Qinghai mobilized heavy troops to pursue and intercept them. Ma Bufang ordered: It is better to die than to lose an inch. On the Battlefield of Gansu, the total strength of Qinghai Erma (Ma Bufang and Ma Buqing) alone exceeded 125,000 people.

The tragic Western Route Army

In March 1937, Qilian Mountain, Gansu Hexi. Qinghai's second horse is outnumbered, and the Western Route Army is difficult to supply, facing the danger of total annihilation. Wang Quanyuan took the initiative to ask Xu Qiangqian for help, and led the Women's Independent Regiment to block Ma Bufang's troops, covering the headquarters of the Western Route Army and the retreat of the wounded. Wang Quanyuan's reasoning was that once the male soldiers were captured, there was absolutely no hope of survival. Wang Quanyuan set up an ambush at the mouth of Liyuan in Gansu Province, dug three trenches, and blocked Ma Bufang's cavalry. They fought a bloody battle with the enemy, repelled more than a dozen charge, and finally won the precious 8 hours at the cost of sacrificing more than 500 people, completing the cover mission... Ammunition ran out, and Wang Quanyuan and 300 female fighters were captured. She was taken to Liangzhou and severely tortured. The prisoners who were locked up together wiped a pot of yellow wine to restore her consciousness, and then coated her with five layers of yellow paper to stop the blood.

In his later years, Wang Quanyuan

One day two years later, Wang Quanyuan took advantage of the night to escape from the home of Ma Bufang's brigade commander Ma Jinchang. She ran hundreds of miles in one go, came to the office of the Eighth Route Army in Lanzhou, reported her encounter, and asked to return to the team. The comrades of the Lanzhou Eighth Route Army Office, remaining cautious, gave her five silver dollars. With tears in her eyes, Wang Quanyuan walked backwards along the path she had walked on the Long March back to Ruijin... Years later, under the persuasion of her relatives, she married someone else and began a life of silence.

Female soldier of the Red Army

In 1982, with the help of his early comrades-in-arms, Wang Shoudao met Wang Quanyuan. At this time, Wang Quanyuan and Wang Shoudao, who had been nearly half a century, were already more than 70 years old. In 1937, the Western Route Army defeated Hexi, and Wang Shoudao waited for Wang Quanyuan for three years, thinking that she had died, so he began another relationship with him. No one can appreciate the scene when the hero and heroine in this poignant story meet nearly half a century apart.

Wang Quanyuan in his later years

In 1994, Wang Quanyuan came to Beijing for the second time and saw Wang Shoudao again. This time, Wang Shoudao also made a special explanation to the staff that no one was allowed to be present. What can the two of them say? The love of the battlefield yellow flower has become a momentary eternity in the memory of two people. The two elderly people held each other's arms and took a group photo together. Wang Quanyuan held a pair of cloth shoes made by himself and handed them to his comrade-in-arms Wang Shoudao. At this time, the four eyes are facing each other, and tears are spilled on the placket.

In 2009, Wang Quanyuan died in her hometown at the age of 96.

Remember that in the flames at that time, nine deaths were like yesterday. If you count from the time when the Western Route Army forcibly crossed the Yellow River, more than 80 years have passed, and the blood of more than 20,000 Red Army troops has been spilled all over the Hexi Corridor. The loyal souls who had been buried under the Qilian Mountains for a long time, when they woke up in the middle of the night, they still returned to the yellow sand that was stained red with blood. History is engraved with a generation of bloody struggles. (Text/Fan Forward)
