In 1936, Wang Quanyuan was appointed as the head of the Anti-Japanese Women's Vanguard Regiment of the Western Route Army, when they were besieged by Ma Bufang's two cavalry brigades and three infantry regiments totaling more than 20,000 people while passing through The Liyuan Pass of Qilian Mountain, and the situation was very dangerous.
After many days of fighting, the Western Route Army had already lost more than half of its losses, and if it could not break out from Liyuankou at this time, there would be a danger that the entire army would be destroyed, and in order to cover the breakthrough of the large troops, Wang Quanyuan took the initiative to ask for battle and led a women's regiment to block More than 20,000 people in Ma Bufang.
This battle was destined to be a fierce battle, Wang Quanyuan's women's regiment originally had only more than a thousand people, and after a day of fighting, the women's regiment lost more than half, but the task was not yet completed, and the Western Route Army was still struggling to break through. Wang Quanyuan decided that all women should cut off their long hair, wear men's clothes, and use the banner of the Thirtieth Army to attract more enemies and ease the pressure of the Western Route Army. An hour later, the women's regiment was completely destroyed, and the regimental commander Wang Quanyuan was captured.
Wang Quanyuan escaped from the clutches of the enemy after experiencing hellish torture, she begged along the way, returned to her hometown, she tried to get in touch with the organization, but unfortunately there was no contact, so she chose to marry Liu Gaohua in her hometown and live a self-supporting life.
Until 1989, the identity of the 76-year-old Wang Quanyuan was confirmed by the state, and according to the relevant regulations, she was treated as a deputy department-level cadre. Wang Quanyuan was childless in her life, but she raised six orphans, and her life is full of legends, and some people say that her life is "nine deaths".
In 1982, Wang Quanyuan came to Beijing to find Kang Keqing, the wife of President Zhu, and she hoped that Kang Keqing could testify for her to restore her party membership, and then she made a request, that is, to meet Wang Shoudao, who was already a vice-state-level identity at that time, and had a new family, but when she saw Wang Quanyuan again, her inner thoughts were like a river, and for this meeting, they waited for more than forty years, which was really not easy.
In 1994, Wang Shoudao was critically ill and hospitalized, Wang Quanyuan personally went to visit him, and brought him a pair of thousand-layered cloth shoes that he made for him, Wang Shoudao could no longer hold back the tears when he took it, this pair of shoes he waited for more than half a century, if there is an afterlife, I believe they will definitely choose to stay together for a lifetime.
