In October 1936, the three main forces of the Red Army met in northern Shaanxi, and the Central Revolutionary Military Commission decided to carry out the Ningxia Campaign, organizing a total of Red 30 Army, Red 5 Army, Red 9 Army and other units to cross the Yellow River to the west.
Later, due to its outdecundation and lack of material supplies, the Western Route Army was finally defeated in the Hexi Corridor in March 1937, which became an eternal pain in the history of our army, and many outstanding Red Army generals also died, such as Dong Zhentang, commander of the Red 5Th Army, Sun Yuqing, commander of the Red 9th Army, and others.
In addition to the soldiers who died, there were many fighters who were captured by the enemy, including some female soldiers of the Red Army.
The person we want to talk about today is the woman who was once the commander of the Red Army, Wang Quanyuan.

Wang Quanyuan is a native of Ji'an, Jiangxi, born in 1913, at the age of 16, she was sold by her family to a family surnamed Wang as a child bridesmaid, in 1930, a peasant riot broke out in Ji'an, Wang Quanyuan was affected and joined the revolution.
During the agrarian revolution, Wang Quanyuan successively served as the women's minister of the Ji'an County Committee of the Young Communist Party and the officer of the Women's Department of the Xianggan Provincial Party Committee, and in October 1934, Wang Quanyuan followed the Central Red Army on the Long March.
Before the Long March, the Central Committee issued instructions that female Red Army soldiers who did not fall in love were not allowed to fall in love; those who fell in love before the Long March were not allowed to get married; those who were married were not allowed to become pregnant and give birth.
In 1935, when the Central Red Army came to Zunyi, the troops temporarily lifted this regulation, Wang Quanyuan was instructed by her superiors to do mass work, one day, Cai Chang and another female Red Army officer Jin Weiying came to Wang Quanyuan's residence, saw her eyes were red, and asked her what was wrong.
Seeing Sister Cai and Sister Ajin, Wang Quanyuan suppressed tears and told them about their experience of being a child bride and having a bad life, and after the two of them listened, they shed sad tears, and Cai Chang said with a heavy heart: "Sister Quan, you are still young, the road of life is still very long, you must cheer up, your husband is dead, this is your misfortune, but you have the right to choose again, and you also have the right to pursue happiness." ”
Jin Weiying said: "If you don't mind, I have a suitable candidate." ”
This man is called the First Way of the King.
Wang Shoudao, a native of Liuyang, Hunan Province, was born in 1906 and began the revolution in 1925, serving as secretary of the Xiang'e-Ganbian Special Committee of the Communist Party of China, secretary of the Xianggan Provincial Party Committee, and secretary general of the Organization Bureau of the CPC Central Committee.
Cai Chang said: "In the past, we didn't know your origins, nor did we know your marital status, and we didn't care enough about you. If you see the right fit, we'll make it up to you. ”
Before the troops left Zunyi, Wang Quanyuan was called out by the two elder sisters and sent to Wang Shoudao's residence, that night, the two were not far away, maintaining a certain distance, Wang Shouyuan opened the drawer and gave Wang Quanyuan a small black pistol.
Wang Quanyuan liked it very much: "Thank you chief." ”
Wang Shou said, "Can you change your name, we are already husband and wife, how awkward it is to call it like this." ”
Wang Quanyuan: "How to change the law, I haven't heard of it yet, you say." ”
The head of the king said, "I don't know, anyway, you can do whatever you want, don't call the chief." ”
Wang Quanyuan said: "There is a custom in our hometown, the bride should send the groom a pair of handmade cloth shoes with a thousand layers of soles, put on these shoes, no matter where they go to the end of the world, they will return to their relatives..."
This time, due to the urgency of the Long March, Wang Quanyuan did not give Wang Shoudao the cloth shoes he had made himself.
After this day, the two were temporarily separated, and it was not until June 26, 1935, that the two met again, after which, due to the Long March, they gathered less and more.
In October 1936, the Central Committee organized the Western Route Army to march west, and Wang Quanyuan was appointed as the head of the Women's Anti-Japanese Pioneer Regiment of the General Headquarters of the Western Route Army.
In March 1937, the women's regiment led by Wang Quanyuan was captured by the enemy, and in 1939, after she was tortured and escaped, she begged all the way to the lanzhou Eighth Route Army office.
Here, she was treated most cruelly, because she had been away for three years, and the person who had proposed to Wang Quanyuan several times on the Long March Road and had been rejected coldly rejected her.
In 1942, after wandering, Wang Quanyuan decided to go home, and she met a man named Wan Ling, who said that he would protect her, but on the way, he ran away.
When Wang Quanyuan returned to her hometown in rags, no one in the family dared to recognize her.
During this period, Wang Quanyuan tried to find a party organization, but failed to do so, and in 1948, she married Liu Gaohua, a descendant of a martyr.
After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Wang Quanyuan successively served as the women's director of the brigade and the captain of the production team.
In 1962, Kang Keqing went to Jinggangshan, and she was very impressed with Wang Quanyuan, and under her care, Wang Quanyuan became the president of the Heshi Respect for the Elderly Home.
In 1982, Wang Quanyuan came to Beijing, and she wanted to find Kang Keqing's eldest sister, hoping that the party organization would recognize her status as an old Red Army.
In Beijing, Wang Quanyuan met her ex-husband, Wang Shoudao, who was already the vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), and the two met silently, they had been separated for 46 years.
In 1989, Wang Quanyuan was recognized by the state as the commander of the old Red Army regiment and enjoyed the treatment of deputy department level, and this year, she was 76 years old.
Soon after that, the first thing Wang Quanyuan did was to go to Liyuankou, where she had fought, where Wang Quanyuan bowed to the comrades who died in the Western Route Army, and she cried: "Sisters, we come to see you!" Sisters, rush! Come on! ”
In 1994, Wang Shoudao was seriously ill, Wang Quanyuan learned about it, left to visit Wang Shoudao in the hospital, Wang Shoudao specially confessed, let all the staff leave first, on this day, Wang Quanyuan specially went to Wangfujing Department Store to buy a pair of cloth shoes with a thousand layer bottoms.
At the hospital, Wang Quanyuan solemnly gave this pair of cloth shoes to Wang Shoudao, who took the cloth shoes and shed tears in his eyes: "You have not forgotten the agreement in Zunyi!" ”
Wang Quanyuan: "After 60 years, what I said has finally come true today." ”
Two years later, Wang Shoudao died, and when Wang Quanyuan heard the news, she cried and fainted.
In 2009, Wang Quanyuan died of illness at the age of 96.
Before her death, Wang Quanyuan made a request to the party organization to change the time of her joining the party, not in November 1949, but in May 1934, and the party organization agreed.
"A poignant love", in the dust of history, may seem weak, but this makes us always believe that love is eternal, it will not be burdened by time, it will not be forgotten by memory, and sometimes, that glance is ten thousand years.
