The process of Xiang Yu's siege of Xingyang City was quite dramatic. At first, the iron barrel was surrounded and frantically attacked, but the city was impregnable. The withdrawal of the siege was temporarily removed, and the return horse was easily completed with one shot, occupying Xingyang, and also eliminating Liu Bang's two capable generals, which cannot but be said to be an unexpected gain.
Xingyang had already fallen, and the next step was undoubtedly Liu Bang and Cheng Gao of Yingbu's plate. Xiang Yu's attack on Chenggao was already very different from that of when he besieged Xingyang, defeating Peng Yue, trapping Xingyang, and cooking Zhou Jiao, and winning several major battles in a row, and his morale, combat strength, and momentum were no longer what it used to be. Therefore, as soon as he heard that Xiang Yujin was forcing Chenggao, Liu Bang couldn't help but be frightened, and as a result, he thought of escaping again, and he really ran away. He told Yingbu, and the other generals did not greet him, so they opened the north gate with Teng Gongxia Hou bao and slipped away. The King of Han slipped away, can Yingbu still support it? Liu Bang was unable to do so. Therefore, Liu Bang's front foot just walked, and Yingbu's back foot also ran. Xiang Yu therefore easily obtained ChengGao, rested his army, and began to prepare for the next attack.
Where did Liu Bang go? Xiuwu (修武; present-day Xiuwu, Henan). What did he go to practice martial arts? At that time, Han Xin and Zhang Er had almost pacified the State of Zhao and were preparing to attack the State of Qi, but Liu Bang did not receive news that Han Xin had attacked Qi, so he went to xiuwu, one for his own safety, the second urging Han Xin to attack Qi, and the third to test Han Xin.
Liu Bang arrived at Xiuwu, but he was not busy entering Han Xin and Zhang Er's tent, but found a small hotel to stay in first. At dawn the next day, he and Xiahou Bao went straight to the Han camp. Liu Bang was not wearing the king's clothes, and before he arrived at the camp, the guards stopped him for questioning, and Liu Bang lied that he was an emissary sent by the King of Han to see General Han Xin and Zhang Er'er, and the guards let him in. After he entered the tent, the guards recognized the King of Han, were shocked, and planned to report Han Xin, Liu Bang signaled not to squeak, he went straight into Han Xin's bedroom, General Han was still asleep. Liu Bang also did not make a sound, seeing that the great general's soldier's charm was on the table, he picked it up and left, and went to the outside of the tent to order people to summon the people to see each other in the future, and everyone was dumbfounded when they saw that it was the King of Han. Liu Bang made some personnel adjustments to the generals under Han Xin, changed their positions, and took their places, seizing Han Xin's military power. It can be seen that although Liu Bang gave Han Xin great honors and extremely high positions, he always guarded against one hand in his heart, and this seizure of military power was the result of defending Han Xin.
After Han Xin and Zhang Er were startled, they quickly ran out to make up for it. Liu Bang had already seized Han Xin's military power, and he did not say much, only that it had been some time since he was allowed to go on the Northern Expedition, and now that Zhao Di was almost pacified, it was a good time to conquer the State of Qi in the East, and asked him why he was content with Xiuwu and did not try to make progress. Han Xin explained that Zhao Di had not yet been completely pacified, and there were still some rebel forces in some areas that had not been cut off, and it was necessary to wait until Zhao Di was completely pacified before tuqi could be completely settled.
Liu Bang felt that there was some truth, but he thought that it was intolerable to stay still in the cultivation of martial arts. Therefore, on the one hand, he asked Zhang Er to lead his headquarters north to zhao to clear the last resistance forces, and on the other hand, he arranged for Han Xin to recruit troops and buy horses on his own, and then took these soldiers and horses to the east to attack the state of Qi. And Liu Bang himself, after obtaining Han Xin's soldiers and horses, recruited those generals who ran out of Chenggao and concentrated in one place, preparing to attack Chu again.
