From the friendship of the same window to see the development and ending of the Huangpu generals: Chen Geng later became a major general

Text/Kingdom Building

Probably in early 2018, a classmate who was studying in Wuhan heard about my dilemma and directly blocked me. What is excessive is that she did not quietly block, but directly cut off all contact in the process of chatting with me and disappeared forever. I was angry, but after a while I was relieved. People go to high places, and water flows to low places, so why force them to be tied to a rope? From the perspective of ordinary people, associating with a depressed person will only bring trouble, but cannot bring practical benefits, which may be the most basic human sophistication. From this, I remembered the story of the friendship between the Whampoa Military Academy in the Republic of China, and perhaps I could understand some truths from it.

Chen Geng

01. Chen Geng with affection and righteousness

Among all the students who graduated from the Whampoa Military Academy, Chen Geng was recognized as the most compassionate and righteous person. Willing to help his classmates and respect his teachers, he was a student that Chiang Kai-shek and Zhou Enlai liked very much. When he was in conscription with Liu Yang, he rescued Chiang Kai-shek from danger, and when he crossed the snowy mountains and meadows, he pulled back his beloved Premier Zhou from the Ghost Gate Pass. Du Yuming extended a helping hand when he was down, Huang Wei sent money and gifts after being captured, and Xiong Shouchun helped him deal with the aftermath after he died in battle. Because of Chen Geng's benevolence and righteousness, when Qian Dajun led people to arrest him, his classmates, who were members of the Kuomintang, sent a message to let him escape, and Chiang Kai-shek would send 500 oceans as a travel fee. After Chen Geng was captured by Kuomintang agents during the revolutionary period, Hu Zongnan, Huang Wei, Sun Yuanliang, Song Xilian and other students immediately signed a joint guarantee, and Chiang Kai-shek turned a blind eye and let him escape. Chen Geng may not be the most official among the Huangpu students, but he is definitely the most respected person among the Huangpu students.

In 1955, Chen Geng was awarded the rank of General. He served as the dean of the Harbin Military Engineering College and the deputy chief of the general staff of the People's Liberation Army. He died in Shanghai in 1961 at the age of 58.

02. Tang Shengming, who inserted a knife into the two ribs of his classmates

Tang Shengming and Marshal Lin Biao were Huangpu IV classmates. After the Nanchang Uprising, the Kuomintang army frantically encircled and suppressed the Red Army. When Tang Shengming, then commander of the Kuomintang division, was ordered to encircle and suppress the Red Army, he not only shot in the air, but also gave his old classmate Lin Biao a large number of weapons, ammunition and silver yang. When Chiang Kai-shek learned of this, he scolded Tang Shengming: "Niang Xi fart, you have all kinds of friends, sooner or later let these friends kill you." "Looking at the face of Tang Shengming's eldest brother Tang Shengzhi, there is no investigation of responsibility.

During Chen Geng and Zhou Enlai's activities in Shanghai, Tang Shengming secretly funded it many times, and even Shen Shengming, who had been monitoring Tang Shengming, was not even discovered.

During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Tang Shengming served as the commander of the Changsha garrison. Once Zhou Enlai passed through his defense zone, Tang Shengming learned that the Kuomintang agents would be unfavorable to Director Zhou, and secretly sent people to protect them, so that the Kuomintang agents could return in vain.

Tang Shengming's military command ability is average, but he is particularly righteous, doing things informally without losing great righteousness, and many capable people and strangers regard him as a friend. Decent people such as Zhou Enlai and Chen Geng, and villains such as Zhou Fohai, Dai Kasa, and Shen Drunk.

After the founding of New China, Tang Shengming served for a long time in the CPPCC and died in 1987 at the age of 81.

Huang Wei

03. Huang Wei, who distinguishes between public and private

Huang Wei is a student of The First Phase of Huangpu and is known for being honest and responsible.

In 1933, Chen Geng was arrested by agents in Shanghai and taken to Nanjing. After Huang Wei, Hu Zongnan, Sun Yuanliang, and other students heard about it, they jointly guaranteed to Chiang Kai-shek. Although Chiang Kai-shek did not agree to his release, he deliberately let the guards relax supervision and allowed Chen Geng to escape from prison.

In 1934, Yu Jishi defeated the Tenth Army of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army and captured the leaders of the Red Tenth Army, Fang Zhimin, Liu Yuxi, and others. Among them, Liu Yuxi and Yu Jishi are classmates of Huangpu Phase I, and they are more familiar. At that time, the weather was cold, and Yu Jishi, who was wearing a general's tweed coat, looked at Liu Yuxi, who was dressed in rags and shivering with cold, and with a wave of his hand, he let people be sent to the cell. From then until Liu Yuxi was shot, he was in a state of hunger and cold. Huang Wei, who was also a classmate of Huangpu Phase I, learned of this incident and specifically approached Yu Jishi to ask him about the crime: "Everyone is in the same window, you don't even let him eat a full meal, and you are too cruel." Yu Jishi listened to the red face and did not dare to say a word.

In the Battle of Huaihai in 1948, although Huang Wei, who was then the commander of the Kuomintang 12 corps, did not heed Chen Geng's advice to revolt and surrender, after Huang Wei was captured, Chen Geng still visited his old classmates for the first time and gave him certain material care. Huang Wei was later transferred to Gongdelin Prison to serve his sentence, and Chen Geng also visited him many times.

Huang Wei was released from prison in 1975 and served in the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference for a long time, but died in 1989 at the age of 85.

04, the ruthless Yu Jishi and Dai Kasa

Yu Jishi was a cousin of Chiang Kai-shek, and because of this relationship, he entered the first phase of the Whampoa Military Academy. Yu Jishi leaned against a large tree to cool off, and in 1930 he became the commander of the First Guards Division of the Kuomintang.

In 1934, Yu Jishi, then commander of the Kuomintang 88th Division, relied on the extraordinary play of his subordinate Wang Yaowu to defeat the Tenth Army of the Red Army and capture Fang Zhimin, Liu Yuxi and other senior Red Army generals. In the face of his cold and hungry old classmate Liu Yuxi, Yu Jishi was reluctant to even invite him to eat a working meal, and let him be shot after several months of sin. Later, Huang Wei asked Yu Ji Shixing about this matter, and Yu Ji Shi was poor in his words and responded with silence. Maybe he himself will regret it when he thinks about it, and it doesn't matter if he invites him to a light meal and sends a set of warm clothes. People's hearts are cold, and it is perfectly normal to be blinded.

After the nationals fled to Taiwan, Yu Jishi was deprived of military power and received a salary pension in the form of "national policy adviser" and "strategic adviser".

He died in Taiwan in 1990 at the age of 86.

Dai Kasa originally made a living on Shanghai Beach, and was a brother with Wang Yaqiao, the great hero of Jianghuai. Wang Yaqiao saw that Dai Kasa had learned, and in Shanghai, he mixed with Qu Cai and collected some travel expenses to let him go to Guangzhou to apply for the Whampoa Military Academy and seek a good future. As a result, this righteous act cultivated a super white-eyed wolf.

After graduating from the sixth phase of Dai Kasa Huangpu, he was appreciated and promoted by Chiang Kai-shek, and within a few years, he exceeded a large number of seniors and became the head of the Kuomintang military unification agent.

Wang Yaqiao could not see Chiang Kai-shek's dictatorship and sent his disciples to assassinate him many times. Although Dai Kasa mediated from it, he did not actually resolve the deep contradictions between the two.

In 1936, Wang Yaqiao was ambushed by Dai Kasa and was brutally killed. According to the recollections of the assailant, they first used quicklime powder to smoke Wang Yaqiao's eyes, and then greeted Wang Yaqiao with pistols and short knives, killing him on the spot. In order to ask Chiang Kai-shek for merit, these murderers, according to Dai Kasa's orders, stripped Wang Yaqiao's face in its entirety and brought it to Nanjing to test Dai Kasa's body. As a righteous brother, he committed such a heinous atrocity, and Dai Kasa's ruthlessness was obvious.

In 1946, Dai Kasa's plane crashed in Daishan, a suburb of Nanjing, and he died at the age of 49. According to the research of historians in recent years, Dai Kasa's death was not an accident, but his ruthlessness, and he was murdered by the internal personnel of the military command. The truth of the matter, the reader naturally can not confirm. But many acts of injustice will kill themselves, and this saying applies to Dai Kasa.
