Spring and Autumn 295 (35) Five women and four sons of the Duke of Jin

author:King Zhao ZW

After the death of Duke Wu of Jin, his son Wei Zhu took the throne as a tribute to The Duke of Jin. However, since the death of Duke Wu of Jin, the Quwo clan has oppressed the government from time to time. Jin Xiangong was determined to completely eliminate these hidden dangers.

Some people may wonder, aren't Jin Xiangong and Jin Wugong both descendants of the Quwo clan, and how jin Xiangong wants to kill his own people instead. At this point, we need to recall how the Duke of Jinwu changed from the Duke of Quwo to the Duke of Jinwu. It is true that the Duke of Jin Wu became the monarch of the Jin Dynasty by killing the Duke of Jin and creating a rebellion in the Jin Gong office. Duke Wu of Jin died not long after he was crowned by Zhou Tianzi, and then Duke Xian of Jin ascended the throne. People who started by rebellion are naturally the most afraid that others will one day create his rebellion, so after the Duke of Jinwu took the throne, the Quwo clan oppressed him, and he began to think of taking precautions, simply eliminating all these people to avoid future troubles.

However, there is still a long way to go in the middle of thinking and doing. How can we get rid of so many people except the Quwo family? In 671 BC, the Grand Master Shi Huan (wei3) gave the Jin Dynasty the first idea: as long as they got rid of the scheming rich sons, it would be easy to clean up the group of princes.

Whoever came up with the idea and who did it, Jin Xiangong gave this task to Shi Huan.

After Shi Huan took the task, he went to pretend to befriend the sons of the Quwo clan, and when he became acquainted with them, Shi Huan began to slander Fuzi in front of them. After successfully separating the group of princes from the rich son, Shi Huan and the group of princes discussed how to drive away the rich son. In this way, Shi Huan borrowed the hand of the Qun Gongzi to drive away the resourceful rich son for the Jin Xiangong, and destroyed the brain of the Quwo clan.

After driving out the rich son, Shi Huan repeated the trick, and a year later, by the hands of the sons, he killed the two sons of the You family and cut off the wings of the Quwo clan. After the death of you's second son, Shi Huan promised The Duke of Jin that within two years, he would completely help him cure his heart disease.

Another year later (669 BC), Shi Huan used another trick to get the princes to kill all the You clan. After the You clan was completely annihilated, Shi Huan built another city in the southeast of Suicheng, the capital of the Jin Dynasty, named Daicheng, and gathered together all the princes of the Quwo clan and let them live in it. In the winter of the same year, Jin Xiangong sent troops to surround this city where the princes lived, and they swept away the sons and exterminated them. At this point, it took only three years for Shi Huan and Jin Xiangong to kill all the people who obstructed the eyes of the Quwo clan—the world of Jin Xiangong was quiet from then on.

In the following year (668 BC), the Jin General Huan was promoted from Doctor to Qing and appointed Shi Huan as the Grand Sikong of the Jin Dynasty. Sikong was in charge of water conservancy and civil engineering, so after Shi Huan took office, he would raise and increase the walls of the city of Qicheng built by the sons of Quwo Qun, and in the same year, the capital of the Jin state was moved from Suicheng to Daicheng.

In the autumn and winter of that year, when the State of Jin moved its capital, the State of Yu sent troops to invade Jin twice, and both times they gained. Therefore, in the next year (667 BC), the Duke of Jin Xian wanted to fight against the kingdom of Yu. Shi Huan objected to this. He said that Duke Yu was arrogant and arrogant, and that if he repeatedly won the Jin Dynasty, he would certainly be overwhelmed and disgusted with the people. Therefore, Shi Huan suggested that Jin Xiangong wait patiently and wait until Gong Yu lost the hearts of the people before going on a crusade against him, and then Gong Yu would definitely lose his way and be helpless, and no one would help him. Shi Huan also said that courtesy, pleasure, kindness, and love for the people are the foundation of victory in war, and these four gonggongs are not occupied, but dare to wage war repeatedly, and sooner or later he will lose his popularity and morale. In this way, the Duke of Jin temporarily dispelled the idea of crusading against the State of Yu.

In the eleventh year of the Jin Dynasty, that is, in 666 BC, xi qi, the prince of the Jin dynasty, was made crown prince.

Gongzi Xiqi was the son of Li Ji, the daughter of Li Rong. Whoever carries the word "Rong" is not a Central Plains person. Li Rong was a branch of the Rong Di clan living under the Li Mountains in present-day Shaanxi. The wives of the princes of the Central Plains are also the daughters of the monarchs of the Central Plains princes, and the first choice of the prince is the eldest son born to the wife of the monarch. Li Ji was not the concubine of The Duke of Jinxian, not even a native of the Central Plains, so how could it be the turn of the Prince of Jinxian to give birth to her son, Gongzi Xiqi?

The matter of the Jin State is about to be related to one of the five powers of the spring and autumn in the future - Jin Wen Gong Zhong'er, this period of historical figures is a bit much, the relationship is a bit chaotic, so it is optimistic, don't blink.

Jin Xiangong had many women and many sons.

First of all, his wife was married from Jia Guo, but the lady married from Jia Guo did not give birth to a man and a half woman.

Jin Xiangong also had a woman, Qi Jiang, who was a concubine of his father, Duke Wu of Jin, and the two men of Jin Xiangong and Qi Jiang were incestuous. Qi Jiang gave birth to a daughter and a man to Duke Xian of Jin, his daughter was the future Duchess Of Qin Mu, and his son was Crown Prince Shensheng. Does this storyline look familiar? It's the same thing as Wei Xuangong's incest, his father Wei Xuangong's concubine Yi Jiang, and Li Yi Jiang's son Gongzi Fei as a prince, right? It's no surprise, the Bible doesn't say, there's nothing new under the sun.

Duke Xiangong of Jin also married two other women from Rong Guo, and the name of Da Rong was Hu Ji, and gave him a son, that is, Gongzi Zhong'er; Xiao Rong History Did Not Leave a Name, but also gave him a son, that is, Gongzi Yiwu.

Then there's Li Ji. Li Ji was one of a bunch of beautiful women dedicated to The Duke of Jin during the Jin Dynasty's crusade against Li Rong, and she also had a sister who was also dedicated to the Duke of Jin along with her. Li Ji gave birth to a son named Xi Qi, and her sister also gave birth to a son, named Zhuo Zi. At this point, the fate of these two sisters is the same as that of the big and small sisters.

OK, five women, four of whom bore Jin Xiangong five sons (jin xiangong also had three other sons as below). Among the five sons, Shen Sheng, the son born to Qi Jiang, has been made crown prince. Just now we said that Jin Xiangong and Wei Xuangong are very similar, then this matter is not good - Wei Xuangong first established the son born of Yi Jiang as Lizi, and then after marrying Xuanjiang, he wanted to change the son born of Xuanjiang to be the prince, for this matter, it set off such a disaster in the Wei kingdom that the second son took a boat, Jin Xiangong was so like Wei Xuangong, wouldn't he also want to kill the prince Shensheng and make another son the prince?

Jin Xiangong was not as depressed as Wei Xuangong. However, although he did not have this thought, he was very fond of Li Ji, and Li Ji, like Wei Xuangong's Xuanjiang, also wanted her son Xi Qi to be crown prince.

If you are Li Ji and you want your son to be the prince, but your husband already has a prince, and there are several very good sons in addition to the prince, what will you do? Remember how Weiguo Xuanjiang did it? Let's see how Li Ji does it.

Li Ji found the two most favored male pets around Jin Xiangong, Liang Wu and Dongguan Huanwu, and gave them more money and bribed them, so that they could help her deliver words in front of Jin Xiangong.

What to say? Listen to Professor Li Ji's words of Liang Wu and Dongguan Xiao Wu, how this woman is not simple.

The first step is to ask the question: Quwo — is the Junshang your Zongyi, Pucheng, Nanqu and Beiqu - is the Junshang your border cities, these places can not be left without a lord. If Zongyi has no master, the common people will have no fear; if there is no owner in the border area, it will open the heart of the Rong people to attack; once the Rong people have moved this mind, the people in the border cities will neglect the government decrees of the monarch because they have no fear, which is a major problem for the country.

Step 2: If The Emperor sends Crown Prince Shensheng to preside over Quwo, gongzi to preside over Pucheng, and Gongzi Yiwu to preside over the North and South Erqu, then it can not only calm the people of these three places, but also play a deterrent role in the Rong people, and even more can commend the merits of junshang, which is really a three-for-one victory.

Step Three: The rong people's place is vast and boundless, the territory is vast, and he returns to Jin every day, and can become the city of jin - isn't it very good for the Jin state to open up the territory and expand the territory?

Note that the above words and the meanings in the words are all said by Li Ji to Liang Wuhe and Dongguan Wu, the male pets of Jin Xiangong. Li Ji herself did not say a word in front of Jin Xiangong, but through the two favored male favorites around Jin Xiangong, Li Ji said that she wanted to separate Prince Shensheng, Gongzi Zhong'er, and Gongzi Yiwu from far away from Jin Xiangong's side, leaving only her own son Xi Qi and zhuo zi, the son born of her sister, with the most bright and upright reasons and unlimited future, to give a complete and progressive statement.

Sure enough, when Jin Xiangong listened to Liang Wuhe and Dongguan Wuwu's words, he was very sympathetic in his heart, not only agreeing with their ideas (Li Ji's idea), but also very happy. Subsequently, Jin Xiangong sent Sikong Shihuan, who was in charge of civil engineering, to build Pucheng and Qucheng for Gongzi Zhong'er and Gongzi Yiwu.

However, Shi Huan was ordered to build the city, but he had his own plans, and Shi Huan deliberately made the two cities into a tofu slag project. When Gongzi Yiwu knew about it, he went to present the announcement to Jin. As for the Jin Dynasty, he summoned Shi Huan to cure him of his sin of imprudent in building a city.

Shi Huan knelt on the ground and bowed to The Jin Dynasty, and then began to explain why he had deliberately built Pucheng and Qucheng into tofu slag projects. Shi Huan said that if there is no soldier, but he wants to build a city, the city he builds day by day will surely become a place of self-preservation for internal enemies. Since he was ordered to build a place where the enemy would one day defend himself, why should he be cautious?

Shi Huan's words were suggesting that Jin Xiangong, today's Pucheng and Qucheng, may become the Quwo of the day. At that time, the Quwo clan relied on Quwo City to compete with the Jinguo Gongfu at that time. That's why Shi Huan said that the city he built in the day would surely become a place of self-preservation for internal enemies.

Shi Huan then told Jin Xiangong that he should not have built those two cities at all, but he was in an official position, and he had to go when he was ordered to build a city, and if he did not go, he would not respect the king's orders, but if he was ordered to build the city and really build those two cities to be strong, and he was helping future internal enemies, Yu Guo was disloyal; if he was disloyal and disrespectful, how could he serve the monarch?

Listen, Shi Huan said this, what would you think if you were a JinXian Guild?

Then Shi Huan read a poem to the Duke of Jin Xian - Huai de Wei Ning, Zong Zi Wei Cheng. The meaning of this verse is that if the monarch is virtuous, there will be peace and quiet in the kingdom, and the son of the patriarch of the country will become a strong city of the country, so there is no need to build another city. Why did Shi Huan read such a poem to Jin Xiangong? Obviously, Shi Huan is using this poem to allude to the strong city of Jin Xiangong, because he blindly favored Li Ji, and separated from his sons and abolished the country. Therefore, Shi Huan went on to say, if you can cultivate virtue so that Zongzi can be stable, what kind of city can compare with Zongzi's city? He followed Shi Huan to make his prediction--in three years, if you want to use troops, where should you use caution when building a city?

Shi Huan was afraid that Jin Xiangong would not understand what he was saying, and when he left, he composed a poem of his own--Fox Qiu Yu, One Country and Three Dukes, who am I to obey?

Shi Huan was a man of insight, and he had already seen that the Jin Dynasty would one day cause civil unrest because of the dispute over the Establishment of the Reserves. And Shi Huan predicted that this day would not be far away. However, at this time, Shi Huan had not yet decided which side he was going to take, and his poem was showing that although he saw the trend of the development of the situation, he could not see the final direction, so he felt confused.

In the end, Duke Xiangong of Jin could not listen to Shi Huan's persuasion, and in the summer of that year, the crown prince Shensheng, who had led the army to destroy Wei Yougong, sent Quwo, sent Gongzi Zhong'er to Pucheng, and Gongzi Yiwu to Qucheng. Not only that, but Duke Xian of Jin also came to make a mistake and sent all his other sons (the "Records of History" recorded that Duke Xian of Jin had eight sons) to garrison various border cities, leaving only Gongzi Xiqi and Gongzi Zhuozi in Daicheng.

After the sons were gone, the foreign male favorites included Liang Wuhe and Dongguan Wuwu and Li Ji inside, and they worked hard inside and outside, and all day in front of The Duke of Jin Xian vilified and framed the sons of the Jin Xiangong who were placed outside, and finally let the Jin Xiangong change the son of Li Ji to The Prince Xi Qi as the crown prince. This plot took a sharp turn, the Jin people were all blinded, and when they learned the inside story, they all said that Erwu and Li Ji pengbi were adulterous.
