In 1941, the Japanese launched the Pacific War and began a plan to invade Southeast Asia and the Pacific islands, their purpose was very clear to plunder rubber and other resources from Southeast Asia, and to use the small islands in the Pacific to cut the transportation and supply lines of the Americans, thus blocking the American troops at the other end of the Pacific.
Located in the southern part of the Pacific Ocean, Anantahan Island is a small coconut-rich island. The island was colonized by Spain as early as 1695, and today I want to tell the real historical events that happened on Anjima, about a woman, 32 Japanese soldiers, and two pistols.
After 1941, Anantahan Island became a Japanese occupation, and a Japanese company called Nanyang Xingfa opened a coconut factory here. There is a beautiful girl in Okinawa named Kazuko Higa, who married Shoichi, an employee of Namyo Kohayo, in 1944, when she was only 18 years old, and after getting married, Kazuko followed her husband to Anjima.
In 1944, Japan had already set the western mountains, and suffered consecutive defeats in the Pacific Theater, and MacArthur of the United States developed the "island jumping" tactic to find the weakly defended islands of the Japanese army in the Pacific For attack and occupation, and then the islands occupied by the Americans would be like nails to hinder the transportation of Japanese warships, so that other islands that the Japanese army focused on defending could not be supplied.
Soon after the U.S. army attacked Saipan, Higa Kazuko's old justice could not sit still, because his only sister was still near Saipan, because he was worried about his sister's life, Masaichi left Anjima by boat first. Unexpectedly, however, two days after his departure, U.S. aircraft also bombed Anjima.
The island's plantations and homes were bombed to rubble, but fortunately the U.S. military had no plans to attack the island. Higa and Kazuko could only escape into the mountains with her husband's colleagues. On June 12, 1944, a ship suddenly docked at the dock on Anjima Island, from which 31 Japanese soldiers came down, and the gang soon met kazuko.
Kazuko at first thought they had come to rescue them back home, but what she didn't expect was that the 31 soldiers had been attacked by U.S. aircraft to escape, so Kazuko Higa began to live with 32 men. Anjima's resources were limited, and the grain reserves of Wakako and others were quickly swept away, and in order to survive, these people began their "wilderness survival".
Some soldiers weave bamboo baskets to catch fish, some people go to pick coconuts, and some people go to the mountains to catch animals to fill their hunger, and these people can also ensure their survival by uniting and cooperating. At first, these people were very kind to Kazuko, because these people thought that soon the Japanese army would come to pick them up and return home, but they waited for several months.
Months passed, and they seemed to be an island, no one took the initiative to contact them, and the 33 people on the island could not contact the outside world. The dullness of life made these people slowly begin to collapse, and someone found four pistols in an abandoned airplane, and it was these four pistols that changed the fate of these people.
The four pistols were originally all damaged, but two clever men secretly pieced together two from the parts of the four guns, and the two men who owned the guns were of course no longer polite to others, and they understood that guns were equal to rights. So the two began to direct others to work, and Kazuko became the "wife" of the two, and only they had the right to enjoy Kazuko.
But the two slowly developed a gap, both wanted to become the only "king" on the island, and one night the two killed each other, and only one survived. The men who owned the two pistols were more brutal toward the others, but where there was oppression, there was resistance, and soon after these men banded together to kill the gunmen.
Once the killing began, it was difficult to end, and in the past five years, people died intermittently, leaving only 19 of the original 32 men, and in order to stop the killing, they decided to execute the person who caused the dispute on the island, Higa Kazuko. The men conspired to execute the only woman on the island at night, but the woman had slipped away long ago because she had received the news in advance.
After a few days of hiding on the island, Kazuko Higa encountered a U.S. patrol boat on the shore, and after returning to Japan carrying the U.S. military ship, she recounted what happened on Anatahan Island, and then the Japanese government rescued the people on the island, and the 33 people on the island did not completely get out of the mountains until 1951 and returned to Japan to live.
Back in Japan, Higa Kazuko's life was not peaceful, and her deeds were spread more and more widely and even made into movies, so many Japanese people discriminated against her, after all, she had been the wife of 32 people. After returning to Japan, Kazuko never married, she tried to work as an actress, writer, small shop, waiter, dancer, and finally ended her life with cancer at the age of 49.
