The young Hadi Matar, who contacted the man online who identified himself as a member or supporter of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, was lured into attacking Salman Rushdie. Israel's motivation for doing so is to stoke resistance around the world to the resumption of the 2015 nuclear deal.
