In 2022, various automakers will launch no less than 120 new models. In order to give everyone a better understanding of the consumer trend in the German market, we have compiled information on the most important relevant models.
Mercedes-Benz EQE
The 4.95-meter sedan series was first introduced with the 215 kW EQE 350, which has a range of 660 km under WLTP conditions. It plans to launch models with all-wheel drive, as well as the 245 kW EQE 450 and the nearly 400 kW AMG EQE 53. The smaller luggage compartment lid affects practicality.
Mercedes-AMG SL
SL 55 The King Is Back! Like the legendary AMG spin-offs of the R 230 series, it has a maximum output of 476 horsepower. Will Mercedes-Benz refresh the performance data again as it did in the first place? The new car features an all-wheel drive, fabric canopy and rear seats, adding about 150 kilograms of weight. The SL 63 uses a 585 hp twin-turbo V8 engine.
Mercedes-Benz GRC
A new SUV based on the latest C-Class is coming soon. In other words, models with four-cylinder diesel and gasoline engines will be introduced, as well as plug-in hybrid models with a pure electric range of up to 100 kilometers, and the luggage compartment volume will not be reduced.
Skoda Enyaq iV Coupé
31 years later, Skoda is once again launching a glamorous coupe model, albeit cloaked in a funky SUV. The chassis settings, width and wheelbase are the same as those of the entry-level model, with a body length of 4.65 meters, an increase of 4 millimeters, and a height increase of 1 millimeter. In addition, the standard panoramic glass roof and low drag coefficient give it a longer range (535 km, approx. 500 km in WLTP conditions).
Toyota Aygo X
After the joint production of toyota, Peugeot and Citroën's small cars ended, the Aygo X is currently in production at the Colin plant in the Czech Republic. It is based on the TNGA architecture, with a body length of 3.70 meters, powered by a three-cylinder gasoline engine that can produce 72 horsepower, and works with a five-speed manual transmission or a continuously variable transmission. Despite its SUV appearance, it is not all-wheel drive.
Toyota bZ4X
The 4.69 m long, 1.86 m wide and 1.65 m high all-electric SUV (wheelbase 2.85 m) will initially be available in two versions. With an output of 150 kW, the bZ4 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.7 seconds despite a curb weight of 1920 kg. The bZ4X's two electric motors have an output of 160 kilowatts, and according to the manufacturer, it is thanks to them that the car achieves a zero-hundred acceleration of 7.7 seconds.
Volkswagen Taigo
The Taigo, a small 4.27-meter SUV coupe, went on sale in January and rolled off the production line in Brazil. As a sister model to the Nivus, it features a European configuration. In addition to a wide range of driver assistance systems, matrix LED headlights are also available. Compared to the T-Cross, it offers only 3 petrol engines (95/110/150 hp) in terms of power. Taigo's sleek and youthful design has a lot of appeal to emerging consumers. Prices start at 19 350 euros.
Volkswagen ID.5
It can be seen as a coupe version of the Volkswagen ID.4. The ID.5 slip-on tail design not only makes it look more sporty, but also achieves better aerodynamic performance (wind resistance coefficient of 0.26 instead of 0.28). The new car is equipped with one or two (GTX) electric motors with a maximum power of 125, 150 or 220 kilowatts, a battery with a capacity of 52 or 77 kWh, and a maximum range of 520 km. The new car is more compact than the ID.4, so the luggage compartment and rear head space are slightly cramped. The maximum charging power can reach 135 kW, which is 10 kW higher than before. The new car was launched in March.
Volkswagen ID. Buzz
Bulli's "fans" waited until summer arrived: electric buses with a retro vibe. It is built on the Volkswagen MEB platform, rear-wheel drive and is expected to be 150 kW. This will be followed by a 220 kW dual-motor all-wheel drive version. It uses a battery with a capacity of 52 or 77 kWh and has a range of 300 to 450 kilometers.
Volkswagen Amarok
The new Amarok shares platform and technology with Ford's all-new generation Ranger. The drive of this pickup truck comes from Ford: a 2.7-liter V6 gasoline engine. In addition, a powerful diesel engine will be introduced. Hybrid models may be introduced later.
Opel Grandland
Deliveries of the modified SUV began in February. Innovation is mainly reflected in the design style and infotainment system, and the power and chassis remain unchanged.
Opel Astra Sports Tourer Travel Edition
Starting in the summer, this popular station wagon derivative will be introduced in new models. Like its sister model, the Peugeot 308 SW, the wheelbase is 6 centimeters longer than the wheelbase of a sedan. The price will increase by about 1100 euros.
Peugeot 308 SW
To be able to compete with Volkswagen Group models, the French station wagon is available in two plug-in hybrid versions with a system output of 180 hp and 225 hp. The pure electric cruising range should be around 60 kilometers.
Renault Megane e-Tech
This compact electric vehicle uses the CMF-EV architecture of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance, so it shares many components with Nissan Ariya. The 4.21-meter-long four-door car weighs a little more than 1.6 tons, but it is much lighter than the Volkswagen ID.3. With an electric motor power of 160 kW, the high-end model increases the vehicle's responsiveness and reduces fuel consumption. According to the manufacturer, it takes only 7.4 seconds to go from 0 to 100 km / h. The cruising range can reach 470 km under WLTP conditions. In terms of charging, DC fast charging supports 130 kilowatts, so the charging process is short. What are the advantages of a new car? The starter version is equipped with a battery with a capacity of 40 kWh and a maximum output of 96 kW.
Subaru Soltera
Since Subaru and Toyota jointly developed the electrical architecture, Solterra technically shared the platform with the bZ4X. By 2030, hybrids and pure electric vehicles will account for more than 40% of their global sales. In the next five years, pure fuel engine models will no longer be produced. No more driving pleasure? No, Subaru will launch the top-of-the-line Solterra STi, all-wheel drive, 300 kW.
Tesla Model X Plaid
With more than 1,000 horsepower, pure electric power and a towing capacity of nearly 2.3 tons, seven SUV is currently only up to Tesla's Model X Plaid. Its 3 electric motors have a power of 750 kW, or 1020 hp. Accelerates from 100 km/h in just 2.6 seconds. According to the manufacturer, the price is at least 116 990 euros. New car deliveries in Europe will not begin until the fourth quarter of 2022.
Volvo XC90
The new seven-seater SUV is no longer called the XC90 and will use a new naming. A four-wheel drive version with a range of 600 km and two electric motors (synchronous motor in the back and asynchronous motor in front) may only be available after the rear-wheel drive version. The car is powered by Google Services, and lidar for driver assistance systems and autonomous driving is installed on the roof.
