On April 26, GAC Trumpchi officially released the brand name of the new hybrid technology under the electrification strategy - Julang Hybrid. Different from other independent car companies, GAC Trumpchi has achieved two-legged walking on the hybrid track - one is the self-developed GMC dual motor series parallel hybrid system; the other is to digest and absorb Toyota's latest THS hybrid system.
This gives consumers one more choice when choosing GAC Trumpchi hybrid models, and also allows GAC Trumpchi to add a winning weight on the hybrid track.
Zhang Yuesai, General Manager of GAC Passenger Vehicles, pointed out: "Undertaking the electrification strategy of GAC Group, GAC Trumpchi has fully promoted the landing of HEV and PHEV hybrid technologies. After 13 years of technological precipitation, through open cooperation and independent research and development, GAC Trumpchi has become the only brand with a dual-hybrid technology route. ”
It can be seen that backed by GAC's independent research and development strength and toyota's technical advantages, GAC Trumpchi has the confidence to become the head player of the electrification track.
GAC Trumpchi said that the GMC hybrid system adopts a series parallel system, which is all-round in technology and has five advantages of "high quality, low fuel consumption, strong power, quieter and super smoothness"; strong scalability, covering oil-electric hybridization, plug-in hybridization, extender hybridization, and even hydrogen power system, covering full hybrid scenarios.
However, GAC Trumpchi did not state the minimum fuel consumption and maximum mileage of the system. These are the two indicators that users pay the most attention to when choosing hybrid models. Geely and Great Wall, which have released their self-developed hybrid systems, both said that their fuel consumption is less than 4L/100 kilometers, and the comprehensive endurance is more than 1,000 kilometers.
Like Geely and great wall, GAC Trumpchi has also integrated a dual-motor multi-gear DHT on a self-developed hybrid system. Both it and the Great Wall have adopted a two-stop strategy, with only Geely in three gears.
GAC Trumpchi also said that compared with the mainstream hybrid system currently on the market, GMC hybrid has one more gear, improving torque output at the same time, so that the engine can be in a more efficient working range after intervention in the drive, so that the energy consumption of the vehicle is lower and the power is stronger.
But it also pointed out that the presence of the motor optimizes the working point of the engine, not the more gears the better, the more gears, the more weight size cost will increase, but the performance will not increase linearly with the increase of gear, so the demand balance performance increase and weight size cost increase, the current GMC using two gears of the scheme is considered to be the most cost-effective after detailed analysis.
As the second route of GAC Trumpchi hybrid strategy, the digestion, absorption and breakthrough of the innovative GAC 2.0TM engine matches Toyota's latest THS power shunt hybrid system, taking into account low fuel consumption and strong power. As the first SUV of Julang Hybrid GMC2.0, the future technology pioneer Yingku is also officially unveiled. This year, GAC Trumpchi will also successively launch hybrid models of Shadow Leopard and M8.
Yingku is a production version of the MAKEO concept car unveiled by GAC Trumpchi at the 2021 Guangzhou Auto Show, which will be available later this year. GAC Trumpchi claimed that it was "successfully challenging the record of the fastest mass production of concept cars".
In the naming of Trumpchi's product sequence, GS stands for SUV, M stands for MV, GA stands for sedan, and the "Shadow" series is a new product line created by GAC Trumpchi, presenting a young and dynamic, scientific and technologically intelligent style.
The first masterpiece of the "Shadow" series is the "Street Fighter" EMPOW Shadow Leopard, which will be launched in 2021. "EMKOO Shadow Cool" is the first SUV of the shadow series, and in the future, the products of the shadow series will become more and more abundant, jointly creating a dynamic avant-garde image of the "shadow" series products.
As the first SUV in the "Shadow" series, Yingku will have two sets of hybrid and fuel powertrains for users to choose after listing. In 2023, the car will also be listed in international markets such as Southeast Asia and the Middle East, and it will undertake the task of GAC Trumpchi going to sea.
According to the strategy previously released, GAC Trumpchi plans to achieve hybridization of all models in 2025, and it is expected that the sales volume of hybrid models will account for more than 60% by 2030.
