According to data from the Car Purchase Network Editors' Comprehensive Passenger Association, the wholesale sales of the joint venture brand car market in March 2022 were 534,600 units, a decrease of 103,400 units compared with the same period last year, down 16.2% year-on-year. Compared with February, which was affected by the Spring Festival holiday, sales increased by 17.5% month-on-month.

In March, a total of 102 models of the joint venture car were sold, of which 18 models sold more than 10,000 cars and 6 models sold more than 20,000 cars. Nissan Xuanyi remains the sales champion of the joint venture brand sedan, with wholesale sales of 27,373 units in March, only slightly ahead of the Toyota Camry, down 31.6% year-on-year.
The Toyota Camry sold 27,211 units, ranking second, making it the best-selling midsize sedan, up 78.9% year-on-year.
The overall sales of the mid-size car market in March were good, and of the six joint venture cars that sold more than 20,000 units, the mid-level car accounted for 3 models, and in addition to the Camry, tesla model 3 and Honda Accord also sold more than 20,000 vehicles. Among them, Tesla Model 3 wholesale sales of 26,024 units, ranking fourth; Honda Accord sales of 20,667 units, ranking sixth.
In addition, the sales of mid-level cars such as Volkswagen Passat, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, and Nissan Tianlai also exceeded 10,000 units, with 16,386 units, 15,586 units and 15,471 vehicles respectively, with different degrees of year-on-year growth.
Volkswagen Langyi ranked third, with sales of 26,040 units in March, down 36.7% year-on-year. Toyota Corolla sold 25,173 vehicles, ranking fifth, down 27.9% year-on-year; Volkswagen Sagittarius sold 17,214 units, down 46.8% year-on-year; Volkswagen Bora sold 16,235 vehicles, ranking eleventh, down 52.2% year-on-year; Buick Yinglang sold 14,159 vehicles, down 62.8% year-on-year. These joint venture compact cars, which have been among the best in sales in previous years, have fallen significantly in March this year.
However, sales of four compact cars, such as Toyota Ralink, Honda Civic, Chevrolet Cruze and Volkswagen Santana, were better than in the same period last year, with sales reaching 19,977, 17,456, 13,286 and 10,580 respectively.
In terms of luxury brands, the best-selling luxury sedan in March was the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, with sales of 15,586 units.
In addition, Mercedes-Benz E-Class and BMW 5 Series also sold more than 10,000 units, with 11,363 and 11,029 units respectively. Other luxury brand cars are less than 10,000 units, and sales are relatively sluggish. Among them, the sales of Audi A4L were only 5667 units, down 63.6% year-on-year; Audi A6L sales fell to 5461 units, down 65.1% year-on-year; BMW 3 Series sales were as low as 3195 units, down 81.7% year-on-year.
Other joint venture cars with better sales in March were: Toyota Asia Dragon sold 9,793 units, down 36.4% year-on-year; Buick Veyron sold 8,976 units, up 912% year-on-year; and Volkswagen Magotan sold 8,261 units, down 50.7% year-on-year. In addition, the sales of Buick Regal, Volkswagen Golf and Volkswagen Lingdu all exceeded 7,000 vehicles.
