Toyota officially unveiled the new high-performance gravise GR Yaris at the 2020 Tokyo Tuning Auto Show, choosing to launch it in the Japanese market in September of the same year.

In the World's earliest published Japanese market, Toyota GR Yaris is also quite popular with consumers in the new car market, and it is currently necessary to wait at least 6 months for delivery after booking. At the 2022 Tokyo Modified Auto Show, Toyota launched a 500-vehicle GRMN Yaris for the Japanese market, with better handling and lightweight settings.
The NIS GR Yaris range is available in RS, RC, RZ and RZ High Performance models, with the more special entry-level RS model featuring a 1.5-litre three-cylinder naturally aspirated engine with Direct-Shift CVT transmission and front-drive settings, offering 120 hp output, as well as a three-door hatchback wide-body design exclusive to GR Yaris models and an 18-inch tread with dual exhaust pipe settings.
Recently, the original factory launched the RS Light Package lightweight entry model for the first time for the Japanese GR Yaris RS model, and the new car is priced at 3.124 million yen (equivalent to 160,000 yuan), an increase of 474,000 yen over the price of the RS model. The RS Light Package model is mainly based on the RS model, with the addition of the Light Package lightweight kit, mainly through the 18-inch BBS forged lightweight aluminum ring and forged carbon fiber roof and other configurations, which further reduces the weight of the RS model by 20 kg, giving it a better overall handling performance.
