The online car market learned from smart cars that its first model, Genie #1, will be launched on April 25. The new car, jointly developed by Mercedes-Benz and Geely, is positioned as a small pure electric SUV with a CLTC cruising range of 560km. Previously, smart defined itself as a light luxury brand, and combined with the price of Volkswagen ID.3 (starting at 165,288 million), it is expected that the starting price of Genie #1 will be around 160,000 yuan.
Smart Genie #1 features a new design language with through-light strips at the front and rear, frameless doors and concealed door handles on the sides, and a two-tone body option. In terms of interior, the overall style of Genie #1 is more similar to Mercedes-Benz, equipped with a 9.2-inch slender LCD instrument, a 10-inch HUD head-up display in front, and a 12.8-inch floating central control screen with a built-in "smart universe" intelligent human-computer interaction system.
Smart Genie #1 is based on the Geely SEA platform and has obvious advantages over the Q2L e-tron in size. In terms of power, Genie #1 is equipped with a rear single motor, with a maximum power of 200kW, a peak torque of 343N·m, an acceleration time of 6.7 seconds per 100 kilometers, a maximum speed of 180km/h, and a high-performance version of the model will be launched in the future. The new car is equipped with a 66kWh ternary lithium battery pack, which takes less than 30 minutes from 10%-80% in fast-charging mode.
