In March, BYD's new energy passenger car sales 104338, becoming China's first brand with monthly sales of "100,000+" new energy passenger cars, entering the top camp of China's passenger car sales; in the first quarter, BYD's new energy passenger car sales soared by 433.4% year-on-year, reaching 284737. That figure is close to half of its full-year 2021 sales.

It is worth noting that BYD's production and sales of fuel vehicles in March showed zero. BYD officially said that it has stopped the production of fuel vehicles and focused on EV pure electric and DM plug-in hybrid vehicles; at the same time, it will continue to provide perfect after-sales maintenance services, as well as spare parts supply throughout the life cycle, to ensure that fuel vehicle customers can travel without worry. It is the first of its kind in the world.

According to the China Association of Passenger Vehicles, passenger car sales in the Chinese market in March were 1.814 million units, down 1.6% year-on-year; of which new energy passenger car sales were 455,000, up 122.4% year-on-year. It is not difficult to see that the fuel vehicle market is still in a state of shrinking downward, and the replacement of new energy for fuel vehicles is accelerating. In March, the penetration rate of new energy passenger cars reached 25.1%, a record high, and achieved explosive growth from 11.1% in the same period last year.

But on the other hand, the uncertainty of the new energy industry still exists, the industry supply chain is under pressure, the price of key raw materials is soaring, and the epidemic is repeated... The challenges to the rapid growth of the industry are enormous.

However, for head players such as BYD, this may be the best time to consolidate the position of the industry and expand the lead. In March, BYD's new energy vehicle sales increased by 346.2% year-on-year and 19.3% month-on-month, and its market share further increased to 22.93%.

Recently, EV SALES / EV VOLUMES released the latest global new energy passenger car sales data. It shows that BYD won the global sales championship of the month with 87906 global sales in February. This is also BYD's second global title in 2022.

With the support of leading technologies such as blade batteries, DM-i super hybrids, and e-platform 3.0, BYD's EV and DM models sold 53,664 and 50,674 units respectively in March. In the Chinese market, this is still a unique existence, which is very different from other manufacturers' heavy pure electricity, light hybridization and even no hybrid situation.

But the market has validated BYD's strategic choice. In the context of relatively inadequate and imperfect technological and infrastructural development, consumers will obviously expect more diverse options. In particular, plug-in and hybrid models that are mainly electric and have both the performance characteristics of new energy vehicles and the convenience of fuel vehicles will be long-term demand. Because of this, SINCE THE BYD DM-i model, which has the comprehensive advantage of "fast, provincial, quiet, smooth and green", has begun to climb month by month since its launch in March last year, becoming the biggest variable in the new energy market.

Today, with the recent launch and listing of BYD Han DM-i, Song MAX DM-i and Destroyer 05 models, BYD DM-i has formed a complete model matrix, covering all categories from cars to SUVs and MPVs, from A-class to C-class, from entry-level to luxury, and is expected to continue to drive sales upwards.
