Tesla's domestic sales in March are out! 65,184 units sold!
Just today, the Association released its march car sales figures. Among them, Tesla sales in March were 65,184 vehicles (of which 60 were exported), an increase of 85% year-on-year.
It should be noted that this is the seventh consecutive month that Tesla has achieved sales of more than 50,000 units, and the second time that sales have exceeded 60,000 units. According to public data, in the six months from September 2021 to March 2022, Tesla's monthly sales were 56,006 units, 54,391 units, 52,859 units, 70,847 units, 59,845 units and 56,515 units, respectively. Sales fluctuated slightly, but the figures remained above 50,000 units.
Tesla's good sales can also reflect the hot sales of the entire new energy market, and the market is generally good. According to the data of the Association, the retail sales of new energy passenger vehicles reached 445,000 units in March, an increase of 137.6% year-on-year and 63.1% month-on-month, which was better than the trend in March of the calendar year. From January to March, domestic retail sales of new energy passenger vehicles were 1.070 million units, up 146.6% year-on-year.
The data of the Association also shows that the domestic retail penetration rate of new energy vehicles in March was 28.2%, an increase of 17.6 percentage points from the penetration rate of 10.6% in March 2021. In March, the penetration rate of new energy vehicles in independent brands was 46% and that of new energy vehicles in luxury vehicles was 32%, while the penetration rate of new energy vehicles in mainstream joint venture brands was only 4.3%.

Among them, the sales volume of hybrid models was 50674 units, and the sales of pure electric models were 53664 units, slightly lower than Tesla.
Tesla's sales in China in March were also affected by a number of external factors, including the shutdown of the Shanghai factory caused by the epidemic, but sales in March still rose steadily. Among them, in March, Tesla's Shanghai factory was shut down for several days due to the epidemic, losing some production capacity. If not affected, the record highest sales in China in March is expected to continue to break.

Overall, the best performer in March was Xiaopeng Motors, with a single monthly delivery of 15,414 units, once again becoming the monthly sales crown in "Wei Xiaoli".

Although Tesla's Shanghai factory continued to shut down due to the epidemic in March, after the official delivery of Tesla's Berlin factory, it also helped Tesla complete a number of European orders, increasing Tesla's global sales and quarterly sales in March.

However, from the total sales of Tesla in this quarter and Tesla's sales in China this month, the current impact of other car companies on Tesla's sales is not large, but the Shanghai epidemic has affected it. In the future, Tesla will continue to expand the size of existing factories and increase production capacity.
Musk's goal is to reach 20 million Tesla's annual sales in 2030 and more than 100,000 employees worldwide. If Tesla's existing four major factories are operating normally, and the factories maintain the existing rate of capacity growth, this goal is not difficult to achieve.
